Application -‐> Admission -‐> Visa Application procedure Information sheet for Study Abroad students From April 2012, Study Abroad students will need to follow these steps to enrol at UNSW. If you have any questions, contact the Global Education Office at
[email protected]. Step 1: Apply Apply directly to Study Abroad, by completing and sending an application downloaded from the UNSW International website. (Do not try to apply online on the UNSW Apply Online website as this system does not facilitate Study Abroad admissions). There is no application fee. Include transcripts and English language proficiency documentation if required. There are full instructions for this stage of the application on the application form. Step 2: Receive Offer Qualified Applicants will be issued with an Offer Letter, which will be accompanied by two forms that need to be completed and returned to the UNSW Global Education Office: the Acceptance Form and the SVP Checklist Form. Step 3: Accept Offer To accept your Offer, complete and sign the Acceptance Form that accompanies the Offer. Complete the SVP Checklist Form. The documentation you will need to provide with the completed SVP Checklist Form will depend on how you will be funding your studies abroad. There are three types of funding, and explanations for each are detailed below: A. Self-‐funded: you will pay UNSW tuition fees directly to UNSW B. Sponsored: you will have the payment of your UNSW tuition fees funded through government funding, scholarship or other such means C. Program partnership: your home university, or your Program Provider will arrange payment of your UNSW tuition fees directly with UNSW A. Self-‐funded Students: what additional documents are required If you are a Self-‐funded student, complete and return the Acceptance and SVP Checklist Forms to the UNSW Global Education Office along with these documents: Financial Requirements for Self-‐funded Students:
1. A certified copy of a bank statement, issued within the last three months, showing a minimum A$15,000 or equivalent in home currency; and 2. Verifiable foreign exchange rate from the same bank that meets the A$15,000 equivalence; and 3. Payment of the standard deposit of A$500 to UNSW Global Education Office (as detailed on the Offer letter). The UNSW Global Education Office reserves the right to request additional financial documentation from students of any nationality, irrespective of that nation’s former or current DIAC (Department of Immigration & Citizenship) risk rating status.
