Winemakers Comments: For this blend of contrasts, the Viognier grapes were picked very ripe for its fruit and spiciness and the Grenache Blanc early for freshness, finesse, minerality and the natural acidity it contributes. Specially selected parcels of grapes were chosen with the specific aim of creating an intriguing blend. Prior to blending, a percentage of these components were matured on its fine lees in older French oak barriques for 6 months. Tasting Notes: The wine has an intense, fresh, citrusy nose showing ripe peaches and limes with hints of orange blossom. A mouth-watering profile of papaya, peach crumble and Seville orange marmalade with subtle hints of flint and spice makes for a very complex palate. The wine is fruit-driven, elegant and balanced with a refreshing natural acidity and a lingering, spicy finish with notes of peach melba – ideal for pairing with the rich, sweet flavours of crayfish, a creamy seafood pie, paella or crab risotto.
