Did You Know? Did you know that installing water-efficient toilets in your home could help save up to 170 billion gallons of water? A study that looked at the remaining number of older, inefficient “water closets” across Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas found that this one change could contribute to a savings of up to 465 million gallons of potable water every day.

Drought’s over? What do you need to know?
From all of us at SJWC, Thank you!
Thank you for your conservation efforts! San Jose Water Company customers saved over 26 billion gallons of water in 2015 and 2016. Conservation is more than just about using water wisely; it’s also a commitment to ensure reliable water supplies for the future. Your efforts have resulted in some great news for our region: Our local groundwater basins have returned to normal levels for the first time since December 2013. n Water use restrictions are no longer in effect throughout our service area. n
Thank you again for your efforts to ensure safe, high quality, and reliable water service continues to be available today and in the future.

We live in a region that is subject to cyclical droughts. Using water wisely should be as much a part of daily life today as it was during the drought. With the easing of restrictions, our community can return to more normal water use habits, like watering our lawns and gardens more frequently. But it’s still important to pay attention to the commonsense water use rules in effect, http://www.sanjose. watersavingplants.com/. Before you turn your irrigation system back on, check it for leaks and breaks. Our free Water Audit Program can help you identify irrigation system problems. Call 408-279-7900 to schedule an audit, and learn more about how you can revitalize your water-wise garden.
SJWC is rolling out new, high-tech crew trucks to provide our customers with the safe, high quality, and reliable water service they’ve come to expect. The trucks have all sorts of new features that will make it easier for crews to respond to customer concerns and reports of maintenance issues or water leaks. The Company last replaced its trucks in the early 2000s and the aging fleet needed to be updated to meet new air quality resource board regulations. The nine new trucks increase our ability to respond efficiently during emergencies with double the fuel availability and onboard technology that allow crews access to critical water system data. If you follow SJWC on Twitter @sjwaterco or Facebook www.facebook.com/sjwaterco, you can track the truck’s travels through our service area.
