Tryout Overview & Team Rosters: John Salvatore and Ben Weiss gave a summary of the travel tryout process and data. This year, 493 players in total tried out and they are presenting 28 teams for the upcoming season. The new U8 teams will practice 2 times per nd week for 1 hr 15 min and players will be asked to play in 5/8 of the 2 grade games. Overall strengths of the process include: increased web presence helped increase tryout attendance, improved Warrior program increased the quality of players and the new travel prep program. Areas for improvement include: a single sign-in sheet for both tryout days, ask for extra volunteers to help with pinning bibs and too many last minute registrants. The Board will look into the cost of purchasing numbered jerseys for next year. Also, John noticed many parents staying at tryouts. John and Ben gathered player feedback from current travel coaches and scores from the tryout sessions. U8 and U9 players received a scored based on the tryout evaluation only. At the U10-U15 level, each player was given a score based on 60% from their current coach’s evaluation and 40% from the tryout evaluation. John and Ben presented the suggested roster sizes for each age group U8-U14/15. The rosters are based on the new field sizes: U8-U10 play 7v7, U11-U13 play 9v9 and U13-U15 play 11v11. The Board discussed and voted on all suggested roster sizes for all teams. A personal email will be sent to each player offering a roster spot on a specific team. During this session, the Board did not see player names, only coach/tryout scores and roster sizes. Team:
