^ Daytona Beach Shootout - Daytona Beach, Fla.

About the Eagles The Edgewood College women’s basketball team dropped their first game of 2017 against NACC leader Wisconsin Lutheran, 85-49, on Tuesday night. Sophomore Allison Gordon paced the Eagles with 16 points and six rebounds, but it wasn’t enough against a Warrior team that jumped out to a 19-9 advantage after the first quarter en route to a 48-21 halftime advantage. The Eagles hung tough against the Warriors in the second half, 37-28, but could not make up enough ground on Wisconsin Lutheran’s lead. The Warriors (7-4, 7-0 NACC), one of two undefeated teams in NACC play, shot 45.3 percent from the field, including 13 of 31 (41.9 percent) from 3-point land in their third NACC victory of 36 or more points. Against one of the NACC’s premier teams, the Eagles (0-11, 0-6 NACC) shot 36.7 percent and 0-for-5 from deep. Gordon, who scored in double digits for the third time this year, finished 6-of-9 from the field and is now tied for the team lead at 10.1 ppg. MacKenzie Meyers and Marissa Hoyer each added nine points. Tonight’s makeup game will be the Eagles’ third game in six days after the original December 17 date was postponed due to weather.

About the Falcons Concordia Wisconsin, the NACC defending champions, holds an 8-2, 6-1 NACC record with all six of their conference wins by double digits. The Falcons lone loss came at Benedictine, 57-52, after getting outrebounded, 49-36, and shooting 7-of-18 from the free throw line. Taylor DeLong (15.3 ppg and 64.7 percent shooting) paces the offense for a team that leads the NACC in points allowed (48.4) and is second in field goal percentage allowed (33.6). They have held all opponents under 60 points in NACC play.
