The Eagles started the week with a heartbreaking loss to Wisconsin Lutheran at home on a last-minute 3-pointer, 79-77, but utilized sophomore Sy Staver and a strong second-half to beat Rockford on Saturday, 85-72. Wednesday night’s game against the Warriors featured 26 lead changes, but the Eagles would have preferred just 25. Wisconsin Lutheran hit a long three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to lift the Warriors to a 79-77 victory over the Eagles at the Edgedome. It marked the sixth consecutive loss for the Eagles. The Eagles (3-9, 3-4 NACC) led 64-57 with just under 12 minutes, but the Warriors held the Eagles without a field goal for almost six minutes during a decisive 13-2 run. Senior Spencer Barnes scored a season-high 19 points. Staver was one of five double-digit scorers after posting 13 of his 15 points in the second half and led an Eagle offense that shot 53.1 percent and hit 13 of 14 free throws in the final period to push past Rockford University, 85-72, on Saturday. With the Eagles (3-9, 3-4 NACC) holding a 74-67 lead and nearly a minute-and-a-half to go, Staver sealed the deal with six straight free throw makes in the next 22 seconds to seal the victory and accounted for 21 of the team’s final 27 points.

About the Falcons Concordia Wisconsin is 5-6, 4-4 in the NACC and has dropped five straight games after a 5-1 start. Led by senior Eric Kittel (15.5 ppg), the Falcons are one of three teams with four players averaging 10.0 ppg or more in NACC play. The Falcons are among the top-4 in 3-point makes (9.3), attempts (23.5), and percentage (39.4), but rank last in free throws made (11.5) and attempts (16.4).
