The Eagles knew they were in for a tough week going into two key road matchups but came up empty-handed in a pair of heartbreaking defeats. A 30-foot prayer sent the Eagles home with a 61-58 loss Wednesday at Marian while an and-one in the closing moments gave the Eagles their second-straight loss Saturday at Dominican. The Eagles were poised to take the final shot at Marian Wednesday but a turnover resulted in the Sabres’ Carvell Oliver picking up a loose ball in the closing seconds. He dribbled across the center circle and attempted a running shot from about 30 feet out that found the bottom of the net as time expired. The Eagles’ 68-67 loss to Dominican was equally gutwrenching. After Tal Diekvoss’ jumper to go up 67-65 with 43 seconds left to play, the Stars were forced to take a three late in the shot clock. The shot was off the mark but Tim Robertson snagged the rebound and laid in the game-tying basket while also drawing a foul with seven seconds left. He hit the free throw and Diekvoss was off the mark on his three-point attempt on the other end. Joe Klocek led the Eagles in scoring over the two games after scoring a season-high 18 against the Stars while Trevor Neale (13.0) was the only other Eagles player averaging double figures last week.
About the Raiders MSOE’s season has played out very similar to Edgewood College’s in that they heated up right after winter break but have dropped two important league games as of late. The Raiders won four of five to start January but lost big to Lakeland and dropped a nail-biter to Aurora last week. NACC-leading Aurora took down MSOE on a buzzer beater this past Saturday while the Raiders fell 91-70 to Lakeland last Wednesday.

GREAT COMPETITION.
Edgewood College men’s basketball team continues to play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. Last season the Eagles played the 8th toughest non-conference schedule out of over 400 NCAA Division III schools. Three of their five nonconference games were against teams ranked in the Top 10 in the country. This seasons non-conference highlights include games against three nationally ranked teams and a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico to take on two of the best programs in the country.

A MESSAGE FROM HEAD COACH
JUSTIN MEYER
The Booster Club is an integral part of our Edgewood College Basketball Family. Support from fans like you has played a significant role in the success of our program, which has earned 10 conference championships and three NCAA Division III National Tournament appearances. During my time here at Edgewood, the Eagles have won four conference titles, finished runner-up four times, and played in seven conference championship games. We have also won the second most games in the NACC over the last eight years. In 2014 we reached the conference championship game for the third time in the last four years. Now beginning my 12th full season with the Eagles Basketball Family, I am very excited about the upcoming season. I feel very fortunate and honored to be part of a program with such a storied history, as well as a loyal and dedicated fan base, and look forward to leading the Eagles again this season. Having a large number of letter winners and contributors back this year, I truly feel we are ready to take the next step and not only return to the NACC Championship Game but win it this season as well. With a dedicated core of returning players and a very good group of newcomers we are focused on having a great season and hopefully returning to the NCAA Tournament. this off season has seen lots of hard work, sweat, and dedication from our team in hopes of it paying off in February. Our program continues to attract high-quality student-athletes who strive to do their best both on the court and in the classroom. Last season we had the second highest GPA of any male sport on campus with a 3.18 team GPA and we had the most community service hours of any sport on campus with over 600 team hours. Our players know they represent everyone who has ever worn an Eagle uniform or attended our fine institution. Now, as we anxiously await the beginning of a new season, we invite your support to share in our quest to bring home another championship to Edgewood College. By becoming an Eagle Booster you can be confident you are investing in a first class program by providing our student-athletes with apparel, meals and special travel opportunities. This year we will be traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to play two nationally ranked opponents. As you know trips like these offer our student-athletes a once in a life time experience! They also come with a steep price tag. This season all Booster Club donations will go towards funding the Puerto Rico trip with the goal of having our student-athletes pay as little as possible for this wonderful experience.
