Home games at Breese Stevens Field unless noted (MC) - Madison College, Madison (EHS) - Edgewood High School, Madison (O) - Oregon High School, Oregon
After graduating just two seniors from a year ago, the Edgewood College men’s soccer team returns nearly 90 percent of their scoring and is primed to end their two-year NACC tournament drought. Anchored by six seniors, the Eagles look to qualify and make some noise in the NACC for the first time since 2014 despite being picked eighth this year. Last season’s offensive leader, junior forward Garrett Lee, added 10 goals, four assists, 24 points, and 45 shots and led the team in all categories. The Menomonee Falls, Wis. native added three multi-goal games with his first hat trick coming against Ripon on September 6. Backing him up will be seniors Henry Simon (six goals, two assists), Zander Rothering (four goals, four assists), and junior Nicholas Bilodeau (six goals, three assists). Sophomore Brandyn Storhoff is the lone returning goalkeeper after playing a backup role in his first season with the Eagles. The Lodi, Wis. native allowed a 3.48 goals against average in eight games, including two starts, and totaled 14 saves. Storhoff started his first complete, 90-minute game in the season finale at UW-Platteville and posted a career-high four saves. After finishing eighth in the NACC standings in each of the last two seasons, the Eagles were picked eighth in the preseason poll with Dominican chosen as the NACC favorite.
About the Buccaneers Beloit College finished 7-8-1, 2-6-1 in the Midwest Conference. The Buccaneers are picked ninth in the MWC and return leading scorer, Emmett Hendrickson (five goals). The Buccaneers beat the Eagles, 3-1, last season after scoring twice in the first 15 minutes.
Buccaneers lead all-time series 8-7-1 Last meeting: BC 3, EC 1 (10/11/16)
