EVAA May 2015 Meeting Notes Board Members: Marc Dannecker Greg LeVon Karen Aagesen Kuhn Paul Waxlax Pat Martin Brad Ericksen Lynn Rauch Sarah Trachet Shawn Calabrase Jason Olson David Black Welcome and Introductions Meeting called to order @ 8:00pm 5/18/2015 President Report Board Positions : Still need to fill some positions: Newsletter Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator and Vice President VAA Merger : Conversation ongoing. Next stepcommittees from EVAA and VAA to meet. PCA: Saturday morning, May 30thtentative next event for PCA. Positive coaching and play is the focus. Program Updates InHouse Baseball: One practice a week with "At Bat" program. Trying to infuse life into baseball. (MLB affiliation) 360 feedback. Advocate skills and baseball culture. Combining 4th and 5th grade teamsplay against other local towns (4 teams). Good feedback from parents. Traveling Baseball: No Update. Eastview Athletic Association • P.O. InHouse Basketball: Will present budget this fall. Traveling Basketball: 5 new board members. Summer open gym. The EVAA Traveling Basketball Program is open to boys and girls, grades 48, who reside in the Eastview High School attendance area and for residents of the city of Apple Valley. The season runs from October through MidMarch and teams will participate in an average of 813 weekend tournaments during the season. Cross Country: Registration starts in May. The season runs from August 10th thru October 7th. Basically, the first 4 weeks will consist of 2 practices per week and the last 4 weeks will consists of 1 practice and 1 meet per week. All meets will be 1 to 1.5 miles in length. Cross Country meets typically take place in Lakeville, Eagan, Rosemount, as well as, Apple Valley. Nordic Skiing: Budget submitted for approval Football: 2014 ended on a high note with every team 3rd 6th grade playing a "bowl" game under the lights in EVHS stadium. We hope this is a tradition that will continue for many years to come. Our 7th gradeBlue traveling team won the SSYFL Championship. 7th Grade Black, and both 8th grade teams had very successful seasons. The future of EVAA/EVHS football is a bright one. Lacrosse: Southern Metro league may be formed south of the river. Goalie clinicsgreat feedback. New treasurer. InHouse Soccer: Numbers up: 720, up 100 from last year. 122 in PreK. 100 for kindergarten, 12 boys94, 34 boys 111, 58Coed 114 18 for high school programMoeller (practice and play) Dakota REV: Player pass, jersey and teams. Signing up for tournaments. Traveling Softball: Tournaments in May Tennis: Registration underway. Track & Field: Track finished season strong Volleyball: Budget submitted for approval. Approval for further investigation from EVAA board.
