Learn or Switch ... to Continental Knitting Experienced knitters, as well as people who have never held a knitting needle before, can benefit from learning this easy method of Continental knitting using the exclusive techniques shown in Leslye’s DVD, The Absolute Best Way to Learn How to Knit (shown at right). Leslye has been teaching these techniques for many years to sold-out classes at major knitting seminars throughout the country. We offer her class by appointment, so you can easily fit the class into your schedule. We can also accommodate small group classes. This easy, ergonomic method of knitting helps to limit motion, thereby reducing stress on hands, wrists, and necks. Using this method, seed stitch and ribbing can be knitted with a fluid, easy motion, making your projects faster and more enjoyable. Continental knitting also adds the extra benefit of a more evenly-knitted fabric. We’ll get you started by making an easy scarf. $39 (plus materials) Want to learn how to crochet? We can schedule that by appointment, as well. Just call us at 410-517-1020.

Crafts like knitting engage both your mind and body, causing optimistic feelings about your life and future. Knitters also tend to be more social and outgoing, especially as they interact with others who share their passion.

Help! I have a UFO!

OUR MONTHLY KNITTING CLUB STARTS THIS MONTH!

Saturday, September 27 2:00 p.m.—3:00 p.m.

UFO is an acronym for unfinished object. UFOs are projects that have been abandoned in their unfinished state. They could be very close to done or barely started. We all hope those UFOs will get completed, perhaps by some knitting fairy in the middle of the night, but until then bring it into the shop and let us help you on the way. This is a drop-in opportunity for help in answering questions or correcting errors to help you restart your project again on to completion. Pre-registration is required. Please call us at 410-517-1020 to reserve your spot. $20 fee, but all paid attendees will receive a $20 store gift card towards their next project!

CLASS REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION POLICY You may register for class in person, by phone (410-5171020), mail, or on our website (www.woolstock.com). Reserve your class space with payment in advance. Space can be limited and classes can fill up early, so you may miss out on attending if you do not sign up early. Full refund cancellations will be accepted up to one week before class begins (special events may have a different cancellation policy) so that we may contact those on our waiting list. Store credits, less a $5.00 handling fee will be given for cancellations less than one week prior to class. In the event that a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, instructor illness, etc., the class will be rescheduled, when possible, or full refunds will be given. Supplies are not included in classes unless otherwise stated. We respectfully request that yarn and supplies used for classes should be purchased from Woolstock Knit & Sew unless provided by the instructor.

Learn to Knit Entrelac Saturday, Oct 11 1:30 p.m.—4:30 p.m. Entrelac is a fun technique that creates a unique basket-weave effect, but many knitters are intimidated by the instructions. Our easy-tofollow color-coded pattern is included with the class, and will help de-mystify entrelac instructions. You’ll learn about the different components of entrelac while creating a beautiful scarf using a slowly-changing variegated yarn. Participants must be able to knit and purl. Size 8 or 9 needles needed. $55 (plus materials)

Need help with a specific technique, but can’t find a class for it? Call us to schedule a private lesson, or ask about our Dr. Knitting sessions.

The Science of Hat Knitting Saturday, Oct 25 2:00 p.m.—4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct 30 6:30 p.m.—7:30 p.m. Well, it’s nothing like rocket science… just a little bit of elementary math. Learn how you can knit a hat in the size you need out of the yarn you want without having to search for just the right pattern to meet all your requirements. In this class you will learn how to knit a gauge swatch, how to correctly measure the head and determine the correct number of stitches to cast on, identify the proper length or depth for the hat, and the secrets for properly decreasing the crown (top) of the hat. In class you will be knitting a basic hat while learning all the techniques that will allow you to adjust that basic hat for different sizes and styles. Want a rolled edge, or ribbing? These are adaptations you will be able to make with ease. Students must be able to knit and purl. Knowledge of circular knitting a plus, but not required. $49 plus materials 2-part class
