How To Guide: LookBook Engagement Data in Eloqua LookBook Analytics provide “beyond the click” data on engagement with the content of your LookBooks. The data can be fed into Eloqua, and used for lead scoring, segmentation, and nurturing; as well as informing your subsequent content targeting. In Eloqua, this data primarily resides in External Activities and Custom Objects.
Preliminary Steps
For your LookBook engagement data to be fed into Eloqua, you must have already done the following: setup the integration, and sent a LookBook in an Eloqua email, as per the instructions in the respective how-to guides.
1. LookBook External Activities A Contact’s engagement with your LookBook is logged as an External Activity in Eloqua. External Activities can be accessed from the activity log in a Contact profile.
Open a Contact profile; then select Activity Log >> External Activities.
LookBook External Activities in Profiler External Activities can also be accessed from Eloqua Profiler. (If you do not have a Profiler acocunt license, talk to your Eloqua account rep.) Launch Eloqua Profiler from a Contact profile or search via the Profiler home screen.
From the Profiler dashboard for your Contact, click the Graph icon, and then click on the External Activity section (green) on the stacked bar to reveal the External Activity summary table.

For information on configuring this data for your Eloqua-CRM or Profiler-SFDC integrations, see the “LookBooks in your Eloqua-CRM Integrations” guide.
2. LookBook Custom Objects After a LookBook is pushed to Eloqua, a Custom Object is autogenerated. Here are a few important things to understand about this Custom Object: • For each unique LookBook “pushed” to Eloqua, there is a corresponding Custom Object (formerly Data Card Set) created. • The Custom Object is named according to its corresponding LookBook.
• For each unique Contact who receives and interacts with the LookBook sent via Eloqua email, a Custom Object Record (formerly Data Card) is created inside the aforementioned Custom Object.
• After your LookBook’s engagement data is fed into Eloqua, you will start to see the Custom Object Records populated for each Contact. • In the image above, there are no Custom Object Records yet. It takes approximately one hour for engagement data to be fed to Eloqua after a Contact has interacted with your LookBook.
Configuring LookBook Custom Objects After your Custom Object has been created, it will be labeled “Untitled” by default.
You may wish to set the display name field, so that your Custom Object Records are labeled by Contact email address or name.
** Note: There is a bug in Eloqua that causes the fields in your Custom Object Record to re-order when you set the display name field.
This bug does not affect the data; however, as you can see in the image on the right, it causes the fields to re-order. If you still wish to set the display name field, follow the steps below. 1. Select the Custom Object, and from the dropdown in its Display Name Field, select “Contact Email” or “Contact Name” and click save.
2. After your LookBook’s engagement data is fed into Eloqua, you will start to see the Custom Object Records populated for each unique contact that interacted with your LookBook.
3. Viewing a Custom Object Record should reveal the following fields: Contact Name, Total Tiles Views of the LookBook, Total Time on Tiles, Time and Views for each individual Tile.
