Purpose of the role

Secure commissions for the FFLP programme at local level and ensure their effective delivery

Key responsibilities       

   Knowledge & experience

Build relationships with local authorities and public health bodies where potential opportunities for commissioning may exist, capitalizing on existing relationships where possible Discuss and negotiate potential FFLP business models with commissioners, including budget and project delivery requirements Work to set income targets to secure a sustainable a business model for the FFLP beyond 2012/13 Provide support for ongoing activity in local authorities, flagship and partnership schools Recruitment and line management of Local Programme Managers delivering FFLP in locally commissioned areas Contribute towards monitoring and evaluation work by collating appropriate evidence Support the extension of the FFLP, for example, engaging with nurseries and early years providers, pioneering approaches which combine healthy eating and exercise, working in partnership with the Soil Association Sustainable Food Cities network Contribute to policy environments locally and nationally which support the extension of the FFLP programme Raise and maintain the FFLP’s profile across England, acting as an ambassador and spokesperson for the programme Contribute towards the development of training packages which support the extension the FFLP programme and generate income

Essential Substantial project management experience Substantial experience of working in a multi-agency partnership Experience working with senior members of staff at local authorities and regional level Experience of working with schools Experienced spokesperson Experienced relationship builder Desirable Experience of successfully positioning FFLP as a means to help stakeholders/other organisations achieve their targets Sound knowledge of the Food for Life Partnership’s delivery mechanisms and the results of the evaluation

Grade / salary

£30,907 pro-rata

Full time or part-time, fixed term until 31 March 2013

Hours of work

Minimum 3 days a week, 9.00am-5.30pm with one hour for lunch

Probationary period 3 months Notice period

Holidays

27 days per annum plus bank holidays pro-rata, rising to 30 after 5 years

Pension

Contributory pension after 3 months
