a. Jeremy : Currently have funds from irrigation project that we would like to consider investing in converting Watson field to a 50/70 field i. This would allow the League to keep players in our League through age 14. b. Little League is starting to phase out Big League starting with the 16-19 year olds and starting to push 50/70 fields i. There are other Leagues in the city that are considering making this switch. 1. The first league to do it will be able to take advantage of keeping their own group of players longer as well as reaching out into the pool of players that aren’t ready to play on a 60/90 field. 2. 12 yr. old players can play on 2 rosters a. 50/70 and Majors 3. 12-14 yr Travel team c. What is involved: i. Expense isn’t that high – 1. Need to redo pitcher’s mound 2. Put up a screen behind the existing fence – standard is 200/220 3. Need to bring in more clay d. Motion by Dean to do due diligence for dual purpose 50/70 Transition for infield of Watson field. Approved up to $2000. / Seconded by Scott / unanimously approved. Year BOD Election Meeting a. Open to the General Public b. Jeremy to advise where & when New Items a. Hank Lodge is working with girls’ softball to do some fundraising and help them find a new field. Once this happens League can take back the field. b. Parking issues – Joe has sent numerous emails regarding “poor parking”. It seems that many of the instances when the parking is the worst – there are school games being played – suggest that League reaches out the principals and make them aware of the issue. c. Diamond Kings – Dean has booked Diamond Kings for 2 months of clinics. Time slot 6:30-8pm d. Diamond Kings happened to be using the field with the portable mound. Gary suggested that we ask them to bring up the mound at the end of the game/practice and put it behind the equipment shed to prevent theft of the mound e. Electric Bill - Can someone follow up and try to find out why our bill has been so high – even in the off months. Amy and Jeremy said that we need to wait a couple of months to see what the bill looks like now that the Shack is shut down.
