Call to Order - Motion by Scott/ seconded by Corey/ approved unanimously. Public Comment – none. Approve Treasurer’s report – hold approval of treasurer’s report until February meeting. Approve November Meeting Minutes a. Need to revise date to 12/4/2017 (not 2016) and location to Giamatti Rec Room instead of FLL Shack) b. Motion by Scott to approve November Minutes/Seconded by Joe/approved unanimously D5 President’s Meeting Notes a. No meeting held in December b. January meeting will be held after January 8th FLL BOD meeting Nomination of additional board members: a. Umpire in Chief position still open. a. Motion to nominate Corey as Umpire in Chief /seconded by / unanimously approved. (Corey said yes to scheduling but can’t umpire as many games as last year). Review By-Laws and Constitution a. Change letters of intent to 30 days instead of 60 days – make mention of it when registration is opened. b. Dean to resend By-Laws & Constitution to the Board for review before next meeting and have motions and approvals for any changes will need to be made at February meeting c. Motion by Scott to push approval of By-laws and Constitution to February meeting / seconded by Gordon / unanimously approved. 2018 Spring Registration a. As of 5:40 on 1/8/18 there were 75 kids registered online a. 24 Majors b. 19 AAA c. 14 AA d. 11 A e. 7 T-ball b. Divisions - Clinics a. Majors 1. There are 26 Majors and 15 Mandatory 12 year olds. 2. There is a 5 team possibility this year (5 teams with 11 kids)

a. Will need sponsorships for the 4th and 5th teams – possible one year commitment. 3. Next year 2-3 teams 4. McCabe will have 4 teams, Plainville will have 4 teams and Edgewood may have 5 teams. 5. Must Vote on Majors Managers in February b. AA/AAA 1. Need to be separated – any late registrations for AA will need to be evaluated before being placed on a team a. Jim will put together a screener for AA coaches to use with kids **Safety First** 2018 Spring Registration Update: a. Online Registration b. Registration Breakfast Fundraiser a. Be at Giamatti 1/13 by 6:30 7 am. b. Lisa might be able to make the Costco run. 1. Should get 8-10 gallons of juice this year – ran out last year. c. $100 fee to have someone at Giamatti to open and close the facility. d. Prizes have been purchased but the raffle tickets haven’t come in yet. e. Corey will have wifi passwords f. Scott will follow-up with Amy regarding cash and credit card machine g. Joe, Christine, Tracy, Corey, Scott, Dave, Rhonda will all be at the breakfast c. Additional In Person Registration: a. At the tryouts b. At Dick’s Appreciation Day (Final Registration) d. Registration payment must be received by the time teams are put together. League cannot turn people away because they don’t have funds. e. Flyers were sent out f. Dick’s Appreciation Day/ Weekend – March 24th / motion by Scott / seconded by Corey/ approved unanimously. Clinics/Tryouts : 1. 1/28 Tryout 3-5 at Diamond Kings 2. 2/3 Tryout 4-6 at Diamond Kings 3. 1st hour of both tryouts dedicated to returning Majors, second hour for AA or AAA looking to move up to Majors / motion by Scott / seconded by Tracy / approved unanimously a. Anyone that plans on managing or coaching needs to be involved in the assessments – b. There is a standard assessment form that will be used c. Anyone that will be assessing the players needs to arrive ½ hour early to have a preassessment meeting. Managers Letter of Intent Update

a. Scott: has LOI’s form Majors Managers – but still needs to pull the ones that were submitted with players applications. Discuss Manager / Coach Approvals a. Coaching Letters – anyone who has submitted an LOI for managing or coaching should be involving in the evaluation of the players tryouts. b. Voting of Managers/ Coaches – need to vote in Majors Managers and coaches at the February Meeting Field Permits a. Forms have been submitted – waiting to get the permits. Uniforms and Equipment a. Bats (Gary) a. T-ball can use the same bats b. Will need to purchase new bats for the rest of the league – can get a 1 pc Rawlings for around $39 per bat. c. Working on equipment and uniforms. Capital Projects a. Steve: Shack renovations: a. Received $10,000 before Christmas and an additional $2,000 donation. There is also a $3,800 donation pending. Clinics a. Dean: Yard Goats – May 20th b. Big Al’s: March 14th & 15th at Southington High School c. Blues starts the 1st week of June. d. League Admin Clinic – Feb 3rd 8am to 5pm e. Regional Umpire Clinic – Feb 10th 7:30 am – 5pm Rider Mower at Snow White a. Snow White said that we owe them a $40 diagnostic charge that must be paid or they will keep the mower. Motion by Scott to let Snow White keep the mower/ seconded by Tracy / approved unanimously. New Items: a. Plowing FLL Facility – People that we know have done it in the past. b. Scott has already contacted someone to take care of it. Close Meeting a. Motion by Scott / seconded by Corey / unanimously approved.
