Call to Order - Motion by Scott/ seconded by Corey/ approved unanimously. a. Public Comment – none. Approve Treasurer’s report – motion by Scott/ seconded by Joe/approved unanimously. a. This is the time of year that money is being paid out without any money coming in. b. Discussion – report includes charter payment Approve November Meeting Minutes a. Motion by Scott to approve November Minutes/Seconded by Gordon/approved unanimously Nomination of additional board members: a. Umpire in Chief position still open. No one has stepped up. D5 President’s Meeting Notes a. Discuss Managers approvals – discuss updating the by-laws: i. Change letters of intent to 30 days instead of 60 days – make mention of it when registration is opened. ii. Motion by Scott to change time period to 30 days/Seconded by Vicky/approved unanimously BOD Volunteer for Disney Volunteer Hours Approval a. Since Scott is a Disney employee he would like to avoid any conflict of interest by having another member of the board volunteer to approve the Disney Volunteer Hours. i. Jeremy has volunteered to do the approval of Disney volunteer hours and he is already in the system. b. Motion by Scott to approve to have Jeremy approve Disney Volunteer hours/Seconded by Vicky/approved unanimously 2018 Spring Registration a. Divisions i. Same divisions as last year 1. AA and A for Instructional and Transitional minors ii. Family Max was $270 for registration including 2 raffle books 1. Motion by Scott to keep this scenario but raise to $290 (2 majors registration and 2 raffle books) / seconded by Christine / approved unanimously. a. Motion iii. Online registration is open. Discount was originally scheduled to end on 1/1/18. With late start of online registration – extension to 1/12/18 proposed.

1. After discussion – Steve suggested moving it up to 1/10/18 to avoid any confusion about the end date. 2. Motion by Scott to have 2018 pricing start 1/10/18/ seconded by Christine/ approved unanimously. Registration Breakfast Fundraiser a. Date and location confirmed. Giamatti 1/13. b. Suggested Raffle Prizes for registration: i. To be in compliance – state requires receipts in hand for registration ii. Great Wolf Lodge – Jeremy reached out to them – rates very based on time of year (average weekend rage is $700.00 – recommends $800 gift certificate. iii. 49 inch LG TV for $550 – On sale at BJ’s for $370 iv. $300 gift card to Stop & Shop v. Diamond Kings Training ($180 value donated by Mike Church) vi. Dick’s Gift Card $100 vii. Suggested prizes total approximately $1,570. League spent approximately $1,500 in previous years. viii. This is a nice variety because not all prizes are baseball based. ix. Motion by Jeremy to approve up to $2,000 for raffle prize purchases / seconded by Clay / approved unanimously. x. Motion by Scott to approve prizes listed above / seconded by Vicky / approved unanimously. c. Christine said it will take 3-4 weeks for raffle ticket approval turnaround. d. Does, Eric want used oil. e. Gordon will talk to Bobby, f. Raffle Tickets/prizes, getting 5 prizes, great wolf lodge for grand prize. League Timeline – (Scott Distributed Handout) a. Elect Majors Managers at January meeting b. April Vacation (4/14-4/22) c. April 28th – tentative opening day) a. Vicky - issue is there are several communions that weekend b. Gordon – Games are scheduled before opening day c. Christine – can’t do pictures on the 28th – too many kids will be missing. Christine will make sure parents know games will start before opening day! d. Motion to schedule Opening Day on Saturday May 5th by Scott/seconded by Jeremy / approved unanimously. Putting together AAA and AA teams a. Steve – tryouts and team building should be earlier. He will help player agent and equipment manager. b. Bryon – can use winter clinic to evaluate kids also recommends a cutoff date for majors and AAA registration. c. Steve: will need to have AA assessment.

d. Steve is looking into BBGC for AAA/AA tryouts and DK for Majors tryouts. e. Table decision on tryout dates f. Looking at 4 or 5 majors teams g. Put call out for manager’s letters. Voting on Managers in January meeting. h. Vicky will research what locations are available 1/13, 1/14, 1/20, 1/21, 1/27, 1/28. Inter-League Play: a. Plainville, McCabe and Edgewood are interested in interleague play. b. Plainville offered to interleague at AAA level also. Scott said yes to Plainville for Majors but told them we need to do a board vote for AAA. Capital Projects a. Steve: Shack renovations: i. Received 3 quotes from 5 contractors. Pricing ranges from $17k – 29K. ii. Steve put together a PPT about the project for Hank – iii. Hank is looking or the amount FLL would put toward the project. This number is helpful when fundraising – Board needs to discuss what we are comfortable putting up for the project. 1. Scott – it helps in fundraising when we say we are not looking for all the money. 2. Steve – we can make a motion that we can spend up to a certain amount 3. Motion by Steve FLL willing to put up $10k for project/seconded by Scott/ 10 yes/1 abstain Clinics a. Dean is working with the Yard Goats b. Big Al’s is on the books for March c. CT Edge in Meriden does open hitting for 2 hours for $10 on Fridays with Coach pitching (Little League up to High School) – They were expecting 15 kids for opening weekend – ended up with 35. d. Brian Rooney is in Charge of the Blues and Gordon knows him. Jeremy said that Dean reached out to the Blues. D5 President Meeting Notes (see attached) a. Yard Goats doing hit/pitch/run tournament b. Sundays are clinic days c. Little League wants tax info d. 30 % bulk bat purchase – Gary is looking into it. e. March 14 and 15 is Big Al’s Coaching clinic f. Affidavit night June 18 and 19 at Nuchie’s g. Woodland Street boundary Issue. League Presidents will meet regarding issue. McCabe player from Woodland Street. Played in all stars for McCabe.
