Reading and Approval of minutes by: Joanna Miller December 10th, 2017 – copy of the clubs monthly minutes are available on 4-H Treasurer’s Report by: Joanna Miller $1,100.00 Old Business: 2018 Genesee County 4-H Public Presentations: Friday, February 9, 2018 – Public Presentations Registration Forms due to 4-H Office. Registration form coming soon! Saturday, February 17, 2018 – Public Presentations Event at Byron-Bergen School, 9:00am – 12:00pm. *This is the only opportunity to qualify for District Presentations! Thursday, March 15, 2018 – Public Presentations Event at CCE Office, 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Monday, April 9, 2018 – NEW Livestock Program Public Presentations Event at CCE Office, 6:30pm – 7:30pm. *Livestock Club members are invited to give a 3-10 minute presentation on a topic relating to the livestock industry or their project animal to fellow Livestock Club members. Presentations will not be evaluated and cannot qualify for district presentations. Fulfills market program public presentation requirement- Pass out and collect forms Showmanship Clinic April 28th, 2018 from 10-2pm – learn showmanship tips for beef, cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, & market poultry. Register by April 2nd. New Business: Club T-shirts- J. Miller took orders for Goat Club t-shirts, they should be ready in February. Soap Making Fundraiser- We will be making and selling bars of goat soap for a club fundraiser. Money will be put toward fair preparations, goat shows, and club activities for the 2019 year. Meat Project Weigh in: March 25th beginning at 9:00am at the Kennedy Building at the Genesee County Fairgrounds, 5056 East Main Street Road, Batavia. *Goats must be identified with an official scrapie tag at weigh-in. This will provide an Additional form of identification. *Project Animals must weigh 60-125lb (not over 12months of age) on the final weigh-in on July 15th at 3pm: Educational Program introduced by: Joanna Miller Group Activity - learn about history of goats and goat classifications for dairy, meat, fiber, brush, and packing/recreational. Clover Bud Activity- Social Structure in goats- demonstrates for entire club. 4-H Member Activity- Break up into 2 Goat Bowl Teams and use buzzers Adjournment: 2:45pm Goat Club Leader Electronic Signature: Joanna Miller Next Meeting: February 11th @ Kim Schildwaster’s home 7890 Kelsey Rd Oakfield NY.
