Reading and Approval of minutes by: Joanna Miller Febuary11th, 2018 – copy of the clubs monthly minutes are available on 4-H website Treasurer’s Report by: Joanna Miller $1,100.00 Old Business: 2018 Genesee County 4-H Public Presentations: Thursday, March 15, 2018 – Public Presentations Event at CCE Office, 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Monday, April 9, 2018 – NEW Livestock Program Public Presentations Event at CCE Office, 6:30pm – 7:30pm. *Livestock Club members are invited to give a 3-10 minute presentation on a topic relating to the livestock industry or their project animal to fellow Livestock Club members. Presentations will not be evaluated and cannot qualify for district presentations. Fulfills market program public presentation requirement- Pass out and collect forms Showmanship Clinic April 28th, 2018 from 10-2pm – learn showmanship tips for beef, cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, & market poultry. Register by April 2nd. Meat Project Weigh in: March 25th beginning at 9:00am at the Kennedy Building at the Genesee County Fairgrounds, 5056 East Main Street Road, Batavia. *Goats must be identified with an official scrapie tag at weigh-in. This will provide an Additional form of identification. *Project Animals must weigh 60-125lb (not over 12months of age) on the final weigh-in on July 15th at 3pm: Soap Making Fundraiser- Kids took additional bars of soap to sell. Money will be put toward fair preparations, goat shows, and club activities for the 2019 year. Money collected should be brought to the April and May meetings. Additional bars given out to sell. Cloverbud meeting presentation- on 3/12/18 at 4:30pm New Business: Win a 4-h goat essay contest- Discussed and handed out applications. April Meeting- Farm signs and Dr. Cricket to discuss goat health certificates and general first aid. May Meeting change- May 6th at fairgrounds, showmanship clinic and Goat skill athon. Goat Nutrition- How to feed your meat goat, pregnant, and lactating does. J. Miller Educational Program introduced by: Joanna Miller Group Activity – Learned about goat Nutrition Cooking with Goat- Making goat milk fudge 4-H Member Activity- Eating goat-Lash, goulash made with goat meat Adjournment: 3:00pm Goat Club Leader Electronic Signature: Joanna Miller Next Meeting: April 8th @ at the ECC building, making farm signs for fair and having Dr. Cricket Seward talk about goat health and Animal Entry Health requirements for Fair.
