Headteacher recruitment Dear Parent and Carers, I am delighted to be able to inform you that the Governing Body has appointed a new Headteacher for our school. Mrs. Heather Freeman will start in her new role from the beginning of the new school year in September. As you know, Miss Lamb is standing down as Headteacher at the end of this summer term having resigned earlier this school year. Since then, the Governing Body, with the support of the Local Authority, has been working hard to find the right person to lead our school. We are confident that we have found that right person in Mrs. Freeman. She is an experienced education professional, having been a primary school teacher for over 20 years. During that time she has taught across all primary school ages, most recently as an Early Years Foundation Stage leader. She joins us from her current school in Buckinghamshire where she has worked for the past ten years. Over the next half-term Mrs. Freeman will be working with Miss Lamb to ensure we have a seamless transition in headship to allow the school to continue its progress and improvement. This news also allows us to give Miss Lamb a fitting send off and thanks for all her hard work over the past seven years in the knowledge that the school is in good hands for the future. I am very excited about the future of George Street and am looking forward to welcoming Mrs. Freeman to the school. Best regards,
