GAME NOTES OPENING TIP Gettysburg returns to Centennial Conference action while playing its third home game in four days as it takes on the Haverford College Fords this evening. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets hold a 24-0 lead over Haverford in the all-time series that dates back to 1993-94. LAST SEASON Gettysburg swept the season series from Haverford last year, winning 61-50 on the Main Line before capturing a 76-43 decision here in Bream Gymnasium. At Haverford, Caitlin Moser ’11 and Julie McGrory scored 14 points apiece for the Bullets while Dominique Meeks led all players with 19 points for Haverford. McGrory added 17 points in Gettysburg’s home victory over the Fords while Caroline Murphy notched a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Rianna Doane also netted 12 points while Nina Voith led Haverford with 15 points. LAST TIME OUT The Bullets earned runner-up honors at the Gettysburg Days Inn Tournament following its 6758 loss to Messiah College in the championship game on Tuesday. Junior Alyssa Oursler posted 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. She also scored 13 points in the team’s first-round win over the University of Scranton. Sophomore Caroline Murphy also had a big tournament, finishing with 21 points and 19 rebounds over the two games. TOPS IN BLOCKS Senior Sara Kinsley broke the Gettysburg career blocked shot record on Tuesday against Messiah. Her first block of the game gave her 148 for her career, one more than Katie Reilly ’07 had from 2003-07. Kinsley, who leads the Centennial Conference at 2.90 blocks per game, has posted a
block in all but one game this season, including a career-high seven against Bryn Mawr. She has blocked two or more shots in a game 41 times in her career. STINGY DEFENSE The Bullets come into tonight’s game leading the Centennial Conference in field-goal percentage defense at 30.6 percent. Only two opponents have managed to shoot over 40.0 percent against Gettysburg, and five have been held to sub-30.0 percent. SCOUTING THE FORDS... Haverford is playing for the first time in 26 days due to semester break. In their last time out, the Fords dropped a 6559 decision to Franklin & Marshall College back on Dec. 10 in Haverford. The Fords led by one midway through the second half before F&M pulled away with a 12-2 run. Junior forward Dominique Meeks led Haverford with 16 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Calla Miller contributed 13 points and seven boards. Freshman guard Elizabeth Lynch chipped in with 12 points for the Fords. Haverford comes into tonight’s game tied with Johns Hopkins for the conference lead in scoring defense at 48.9 points per game. The Fords are also second in the Centennial in both field-goal percentage defense (32.1 percent) and threepoint field goal percentage defense (23.9 percent). WANT MORE INFO?
