Game Notes FIRST PITCH The Bullets gear up for the start of Centennial Conference play this weekend with their final two non-conference games, including today’s nine-inning contest with the Stevenson University Mustangs. ALL-TIME SERIES Gettysburg leads Stevenson 9-6 in the all-time series that dates back to 2001. The Bullets won the last meeting after the Mustangs had captured the previous three. LAST TIME OUT Junior Eric Brown tossed an eight-inning complete game, but the Bullets dropped a 3-1 nonconference decision at Susquehanna University yesterday in a non-conference tilt. Three pitchers combined on a six-hitter for the Crusaders, who held the Bullets to their season-low scoring output. Senior Steve Wright finished 2-for-5 at the plate for the Bullets, who saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt. Sophomore Logan Sneed went 2-for-4 with a stolen base for Gettysburg, which finished with a season-high four steals. Brown surrendered 10 hits and walked just one while striking out three en route to the fourth complete game of his career, including two this season. LAST MEETING WITH STEVENSON Brad DeMartino spun seven shutout innings while Scott Zanghellini ’15 went 3-for-4 with a key tworun single in the fifth, leading the Bullets to a 4-0 victory in their home opener last season. DeMartino scattered eight hits and one walk while striking out four. The southpaw did not have a three-up, three-down inning but allowed only three base runners into scoring position. Andrew Jacobson and Luke Lawrence would nail down the win with one scoreless inning of relief each. BULLETS COMPETE IN MINOR LEAGUE PARK Gettysburg enjoyed a rare opportunity to compete in a professional ballpark when it visited

Penn State Altoona in a doubleheader in a pair of games played at Peoples Natural Gas Field, the home of the Altoona Curve - the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gettysburg swept the twinbill, winning 14-3 and 10-0. The Bullets are also scheduled to play at Clipper Magazine Stadium home of the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League - when they visit Franklin & Marshall College on April 8. SNEED TIES RECORD AGAIN For the second time this season, sophomore third baseman Logan Sneed tied the school record for hits in a game when he finished 5-for-6 in the Bullets’ 14-2 win over Penn State Mont Alto this past Friday. Sneed roped five singles to tie the record he set just a week earlier when he went 5-for-5 in a win over Penn State York. He is the 12th player in program history to reach five hits in a game. SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS  Stevenson carries an 11-12 record into today’s game following its 13-5 loss to 14th-ranked Salisbury University this past Monday. Nick Peifer finished 3-for-5 to lead the Mustangs.  Senior Ian Eberly leads Stevenson offensively, batting .349.  Senior Alec Romanowski has gone 3-0 with a 2.63 ERA and 31 strikeouts over six starts and 41 innings pitched. Freshman Christopher Perez is also 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA over three starts and 15 innings. TAKE ALS YARD The Gettysburg College baseball team is teaming up in the fight against ALS once again through its Take ALS Yard initiative. Throughout the season, the Bullets will sell Take ALS Yard hats and t-shirts at the table next to the home dugout, with all proceeds going to Project ALS. The team will also accept donations at the Take ALS Yard website, takealsyard. com. Now in its fourth season, Take ALS Yard has raised over $25,000 for ALS research and was inspired by two friends of the Gettysburg College baseball program who were diagnosed with ALS and have since passed away.
