Game Notes FIRST PITCH Winners of eight of their last 10 games, the Bullets kick off their final week of the regular season with a Centennial Conference match-up with McDaniel College. Gettysburg enters the game in position to make the conference playoffs while the Green Terror are two games out. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets hold an 80-30-3 lead over McDaniel in the all-time series that started all the way back in 1888. Gettysburg has captured nine of the last 10 meetings. LAST TIME OUT One day after earning a big sweep at Muhlenberg College, the Bullets captured a dramatic 4-3 victory over Johns Hopkins University this past Sunday, as senior Scott Zanghellini delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th. Zanghellini blooped a 1-1 pitch into centerfield to allow sophomore Will Anderson to score from second standing up. It was Gettysburg’s second walk-off win in eight days after beating Washington College 5-4 in 10 innings on April 11. Zanghellini finished 2-for-5 while junior Henry Klimowicz clubbed his first career home run. Sophomore Rich Power allowed just two runs (one earned) over eight innings of relief before junior Luke Lawrence came on to throw a scoreless 10th and pick up the win. McDaniel rode a 30-hit attack to sweep Swarthmore College this past Saturday in Westminster, walking off with an 8-7 win in the opener before capturing a 16-7 victory in the nightcap. In the first game, senior Nick Valori drove home the game-winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth and finished the day 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Junior Marty Windisch, the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, added a 3-for-4 day at the plate in the opener, then finished 4-for-6 with five RBIs in the second game. Windisch also pitched six innings in the nightcap to pick up the win. LAST SEASON VERSUS MCDANIEL The Bullets swept McDaniel last season, winning 8-3 in Westminster and 6-4 here at Kirchhoff Field. In the first game, Tommy LeNoir ’14 finished 4-for-5 with double and a triple while Eric Hungerford fired eight innings to earn the win. Cory Karagjozi, making his Gettysburg debut at first base, went 3-for-5 with a triple while Al Posch ’14 also contributed three hits. In the grudge

match, Austin Davis ’14 finished 4-for-6 with three runs and the Bullets held off a late rally to beat McDaniel 6-4. Gettysburg carried a 6-0 lead into the eighth before the Green Terror scored twice in each of the last two innings. Posch added a 3-for-5 day at the plate, Chris Yoda ’14 tossed 4 2/3 innings to pick up the win in relief, and Patrick O’Grady ’14 recorded the last out to capture the save. AMONG THE CONFERENCE LEADERS Several Bullets are among the Centennial Conference statistical leaders, including senior Eric Hungerford (tfirst, wins, five; second, ERA, 1.08; third, strikeouts, 47), sophomore Eric Brown (t-second, wins, four; ninth, ERA, 2.43), sophomore Connor Tom (first, doubles, 13; fourth, batting average, .408), senior Mike Kielbasa (t-second, triples, five; t-fourth, RBIs, 23), sophomore Rich Power (t-seventh, strikeouts, 39; t-ninth, ERA, 2.43), junior Luke Lawrence (t-fifth saves, two), and sophomore Will Anderson (t-seventh, home runs, two). SCOUTING THE GREEN TERROR  McDaniel enters today’s game riding a five-game winning streak, capturing its last five Centennial Conference games after opening the day 2-7 in conference play.  Offensively, junior Cameron Bahr has led the Green Terror, hitting .415 and driving in 23 runs. Junior Marty Windisch has batted .388 and ranks second in the conference with 32 RBIs while sophomore Kasey Nelson has blasted four home runs. Junior Sean Sivo has been a threat on the bases, going 15-for-19 on stolen base attempts.  On the mound, Windisch has gone 2-3 with a 3.58 ERA over six starts and 32 2/3 innings while junior Zach Kronick is 3-1 with a 4.38 ERA and a team-leading 39 strikeouts over seven starts and 37 innings. TAKE ALS YARD The Gettysburg College baseball team is teaming up in the fight against ALS once again through their Take ALS Yard initiative. Throughout the season, the Bullets will be selling Take ALS Yard hats and t-shirts at the table next to the home dugout, with all proceeds going to Project ALS. The team will also be accepting donations at the table or at takealsyard.com. Now in its third season, Take ALS Yard has raised over $25,000 for ALS research and was inspired by two friends of the Gettysburg College baseball program who were diagnosed with ALS and have since passed away.
