Game Notes FIRST PITCH Gettysburg opens a four-game homestand this afternoon as it hosts back-to-back doubleheaders, starting with a twinbill versus the Washington College Shoremen this afternoon. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets lead Washington 28-23-1 in the all-time series that dates back to 1908 and have won their last five meetings. LAST TIME OUT Senior Eric Hungerford fired a six-hit shutout through the raindrops, leading the Bullets to a 3-0 victory over Dickinson this past Tuesday here at Kirchhoff Field. Pitching through a light rain throughout most of the afternoon, Hungerford racked up a career-high 11 strikeouts and was backed by an errorless defensive performance, which included a leaping grab by junior Henry Klimowicz to snag a line drive and end the eighth inning, saving what would have been the tying run at the time. Sophomore Connor Tom finished 2-for-5 with two doubles for Gettysburg while junior Shawn Moffitt went 2-for-4 with a pair of big RBI-singles. Senior Scott Zanghellini finished 2-for-4 with a double. Junior Dan Jarrell threw five-hit complete game, lifting Washington to a 3-1 victory at Swarthmore this past Tuesday. Brian Alexa, Wes Robertson, and Garrett Richardson collected two hits apiece for the Shoremen, who broke open a 1-1 game with a tworun seventh. LAST SEASON VERSUS WASHINGTON The Bullets swept a doubleheader from Washington last season, winning 5-0 and 14-3 in Chestertown. Drew Felsenthal ’14 and Luke Lawrence combined for a seven-hit shutout in the opener, with Felsenthal working six innings and Lawrence throwing the final three to earn the save. In the nightcap, sophomore Rich Power no-hit the Shoremen through seven innings before picking up the win, throwing 7 2/3 innings. Mike Kielbasa enjoyed a big day at the plate for the Bullets, finishing 5-for-7 with a triple and a home run over the two games.

Originally chartered as Pennsylvania College, the College has a rich history of fulfilling the promise to prepare students to be leaders and active citizens in their professions, communities, nation, and the world. Many loyal and generous benefactors have contributed financially to safeguard that promise, and many of our buildings, athletic facilities, and programs bear their names. Gifts of all sizes are important to the continued advancement of our College. Please consider making a gift to the Gettysburg Fund and/or the Orange & Blue Club today in honor of our founding at www.gettysburg.edu/onlinegiving.
