HILLS-BEAVER CREEK ELEMENTARY Parent Connection December 15, 2017 Pajama Day – Monday, December 18 On Monday students will have an opportunity to wear pajamas to school. We are having pajama day as a fundraiser for the Sophie Gehrke family. Students that bring a minimal donation - $1 can wear pajamas. Sophie has had multiple surgeries over the past month and her family has been travelling back and forth to Iowa City. Thanks for your support and participation.

Winter Benchmarking
ECFE is a program that is directed towards families and students from ages 0-5. Students and families meet on Tuesday nights and participate in learning activities with peers of the same developmental level. A list of complete dates and registration form are attached to this newsletter. For any specific questions, you can contact Mrs. Ellingson at [email protected]
Students in grades K-5 participated in winter benchmark testing over the past week. Students in K-2 took the Fastbridge Assessment in reading and math and students in 3-5 took the STAR test in reading and math. Results will be used to make any individual changes that may be deemed necessary in the second half of the school year. Results will be sent home following the winter break with 2nd quarter grades.

5th and 6th grade basketball teams will have the following games tomorrow:
With the cold weather students have been very good about bringing snow gear but we have had a lot of students forgetting shoes. Please remember to put shoes in students backpacks if they are wearing snow boots. Also, if families have any extra shoes they would be willing to donate we are looking for the following sizes in the office:

3-4 Basketball camp will continue tomorrow at 9:00 in the Beaver Creek gym December 22 will be early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 December 22 will be ugly sweater day for students and staff! There is PTO apparel for sale. Check with the elementary office for sizes and availability.
