House Prices & Sales in Buckinghamshire, September 2015

Buckinghamshire’s average house price increased £1,127 (0.4 per cent) in September to reach a new of high £316,514. Over the last year prices in Buckinghamshire have risen 8.4 per cent (£24,603), ahead of the 5.3 per cent (£9,393) recorded the across country as a whole. Mean prices in London rose 9.6 per cent (£43,662). Since the pre-recession peak of November 2007, there have been wide variations in the recovery of house prices across England and Wales as shown in chart 2. At the national level, prices have risen by 3.1 per cent, however of the 11 NUTS 3 regions that make up England and Wales only London (up 43.1 per cent), the South East (13.8) and the East of England (9.9) had higher mean house prices in September than in November 2007. Prices in the North East remain 21.3 per cent below the peak. There were 865 house sales in Buckinghamshire in July, the highest monthly total of the year and just 13 fewer than recorded in the same month last year. Over the last year there have been 9,166 house sales in the county, the fewest in any 12 month period since the year ending March 2014 and 26.3 per cent below 2007’s peak.
