2015 House Baseball & Softball Registration Schedule Returning Player/Sibling Online Registration – Monday, November 17-Sunday, December 7 All HPBA returning players in good standing* and their siblings are invited to register for the 2015 HPBA House Baseball & Softball Leagues from Monday, November 17 until Sunday, December 7. To complete this process, select the “Register Now” button on the Hamlin Park Baseball website (hamlinparkbaseball.org) and select the appropriate baseball or softball divisional registration program for your son or daughter. When successfully completed, you will receive an automated email confirmation notice which you should keep as your proof of registration. There are a limited number of openings in each division and the number of returning players who are eligible for a division may actually exceed the number of openings available in that division. Per Chicago Park District guidelines, HPBA must also provide the opportunity for new players to join the league via the lottery process. Therefore, the limited openings in each division are filled on a first come, first served basis. Once these spots are filled on a per division basis, all subsequent registrants will be placed on the wait list and required to enter the league via the New Player Lottery guidelines as outlined below. Furthermore, any returning player who misses this registration deadline will also be required to enter the New Player Lottery for any open spots which may exist in their respective division. New Player Lottery Registration – Friday, December 12-Thursday, January 8 All new players to HPBA, returning players who did not secure an open spot during the Returning Player Registration and returning players who are not in good standing must follow these guidelines for the New Player Lottery. -
Online Lottery Pre-Registration – Friday, December 12-Thursday, January 8 All applicants must complete the Online Lottery Pre-Registration process between Friday, December 12 and Thursday, January 8. To complete this process, select the “Register Now” button on the Hamlin Park Baseball website (hamlinparkbaseball.org) and select the appropriate baseball or softball divisional registration program for your son or daughter. When successfully completed, you will receive an automated e-mail confirmation notice which you should keep as your proof of lottery pre-registration. You will be placed on the wait list until the lottery process in completed.

In-Person Lottery Ticket Distribution – Tuesday, January 6-Thursday, January 8 All applicants who completed the Online Lottery Pre-Registration must pick-up a lottery ticket at the Hamlin Park Fieldhouse between 5:30PM-7:30PM on January 6, 7 or 8. Failure to get a lottery ticket will on one of these three nights will eliminate you from the lottery process.

In-Person Final Registration – Saturday, January 10 Lottery numbers will be drawn and posted on January 9 for all open spots in each baseball and softball divisions. Those with a selected lottery number must show-up at the Hamlin Park Fieldhouse on Saturday, January 10 between 9AM-3PM for the final in-person registration. At this time, you will be asked to submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate for age verification and provide a check to pay your 2015 registration fee. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more details about the Hamlin Park Baseball and Softball Programs. Failure to attend the in-person registration on January 10 will eliminate you from the lottery process. Up to ten applicants in each division who were not selected in the lottery process will be placed on the 2015 wait list in the order in which they were drawn. A HPBA official will contact you if a spot opens in your division and you will be given 48 hours to accept/decline the open spot. If you accept the open spot, your child will be placed on a team roster. If you decline the open spot, your child will be removed from the wait list for future consideration in 2015.
*A “HPBA returning player in good standing” is considered any player who was on a 2014 HPBA house baseball, HPBA house softball or HPBA travel team roster at the end of the 2014 season. Players who were on the wait list, left the league or only played HPBA Fall Ball are not considered returning players. Furthermore, any family with an outstanding balance owed or outstanding volunteer obligation from 2014 must get this resolved before they will be eligible to register for the 2015 season.
