C8 ‘Hands on Maths day’ Many Year 2 pupils from our C8 schools participated in a fun-filled ‘Hands on Maths’ morning at Isleworth Town School this Wednesday. Activities included a skittles game for counting in 2s, a fishing game to reinforce number bonds to 20, darts to add multiples of 10 and a sand treasure hunt to fill a purse with coins! The games were enjoyed by all the children and it was exciting to meet the Year 2 children from the other C8 schools. The children learnt maths in a really fun way and enjoyed developing their mathematical skills. “We had to count up in 10s to add the score we got on the dart board.” Pupil from Alexandra School “I loved all the maths games.” Pupil from Ivybridge School “Fishing for numbers was so much fun.” Lola,

The Change4Life team are encouraging schools to run a Be Food Smart campaign to help children understand what’s in their food and drink and make healthier choices. A free Be Food Smart app is available to download which allows you to scan the barcode to see what’s in your food. Free information and activity packs are available from the school office. Please come and help yourself for some stickers, quiz cards and recipes. WORLD RELIGION DAY In recognition of World Religion Day on Sunday 15th January, pupils will be focussing today on the many different religions that are represented here at Isleworth Town. Through the knowledge and understanding of the main world religions we can ensure pupils are able to show respect and appreciation for one another. Children will be working alongside their buddy classes on a variety of RE activities and each Year group will present the work they have done in assemblies next Friday.
