IMMIGRANTS IN TEXAS: VITAL TO OUR ECONOMIC FUTURE The state of Texas benefits from the presence of immigrants, who provide vital contributions to the economy and community life. •

In Texas, 16.2% of the population and 20.6% of the labor force is foreign-born.



More than half (60%) of the immigrant population are homeowners.









35.6% of the children in Texas have at least one foreign-born parent. 87.2% of these children are citizens of the United States by birth. In the immigrant population, 84.9% are working age (between 16 and 64 years of age).
