Kingshill Church School Friday 5 June 2015 Dear Parents/Carers It was lovely to see everyone again on Monday and I hope you all had a lovely break! On Monday this week we were visited by staff from St Mary’s School in Portbury who came to see our lunchtime routine. I was very proud of all the children, especially the Junior Play Leaders and the Sports Leaders who carried out their roles admirably. My thanks go to Mrs Davies and the lunchtime staff - I was very proud of them and it was wonderful to see their care and skill in running our very successful lunchtimes thank you! Our assemblies this week have been about healthy eating - I have had a few responses to the ‘food diaries’ that came home before half term - it would be lovely to have a few more! This week the children have been having their final 1-1 conferences with their teachers, you will receive their final school report at the end of June and there will be a chance for you to speak to the teachers if you have any concerns about the reports - dates will follow soon. We have also been preparing for the Summer Fun Day on Saturday 13 June - some of the children have been practising maypole dancing and lots will be running stalls on the day. Let’s hope for some good weather! My thanks in advance to the KFA who have worked so hard to make this a fantastic event. Over the half term a gallant group of volunteers came and cleared the pond area ready for refurbishment over the summer months. We are very grateful as this means that we can actually use the pond for science lessons again! On Wednesday a large group of children went to Grove Sports Centre for a ‘Kwik Cricket’ tournament. They had a fantastic day and represented the school really well. Well done boys! Next week on Tuesday 9 June at 8 30 am parents are welcome to come in and share a book with their child/children before school.
Our Year 6 go off to school camp next week - we wish them well and know they will have an AMAZING time!!!
