Dear Parents and Guardians: Welcome back to what we expect to be another exciting year at Kingston Elementary. We hope you’ve all enjoyed the summer break. We are extremely proud of our faculty, staff, students, and families and are quite fortunate to have such a loyal team working towards the success of all students’ learning. Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m., the elementary students in grades 1-5 will be eating breakfast upon arrival at approximately 7:30 a.m. Breakfast for these grades will be served only until 8:00 a.m. If you want your child to eat, please be sure they arrive on time. Students in Pre K and Kindergarten will be meeting in their classrooms upon arrival. We have renovated the old wood shop into a new early childhood center. Students who have class in that building cannot be dropped off until 7:45 or after the morning bus unloading has been completed. Pickups will still be located downstairs. You may not enter the new early childhood center without checking in at the main office. Students in grades 1-5 will drop their backpack off at their classroom and go to breakfast. Any student coming into school at 8:00 or after will be counted tardy and must obtain a tardy slip from the office. Due to congestion and for the safety of ALL students, the main entrance area (by the flag pole) will be used for Bus Riders Only in the afternoon. As we did last year, ALL students who are being picked-up, will need to be downstairs at the East Pick-Up Area. Parents will need to come to that designated area for all pick- ups. The walker’s are placed together in the Elementary Library and then released after the buses have left. For STUDENT SAFETY, please do not park on either side of Marshall Street. Drivers will be entering the “one-way” pick up area on the east side of the school (Marshall Street) from the north. Students will be delivered to the pick up vehicle at the posted pick up area. Drivers will be exiting to the left (north) onto Marshall Street due to bus line-up on Fourth Street. To assist us in creating the least amount of confusion, we request that no parents wait or travel the hallways to pick up children. Please be at the designated pick up area outside.

Kingston Elementary 2014-2015 Before School Program
The dismissal bell rings at 3:20 p.m. for students to prepare for departure. Learning takes place until that time. We discourage early dismissal unless it is an emergency. The best way to make sure your child knows where they are going after school is to tell them before they come to school. If a change needs to be made send a note to your child's teacher. Thank you for being supportive and understanding of our daily school procedures. Together, Parents, Teachers and Students can achieve goals that will allow for future success of our children. We must be a united group in making Kingston Elementary and students a part of the most outstanding educational institution available. “The Team We Are, Forms the Success We Can Be.”
K-5th Grade The Before School Program will be Monday thru Friday 7:00-8:00. For more information please call the Elementary at 564-2993.
Sincerely, David Gill Lower Elementary Principal
Check out our school website: www.kingston.k12.ok.us Kingston Elementary basketball practices are in full swing and the season is just around the corner. Each team will practice one day a week until 5:00pm on days that we have school. 5th Grade Boys Mondays 4th Grade Boys Wednesdays

We are looking forward to representing Kingston Elementary as we travel and play other schools. You can find the basketball schedule on our website: (www.kingston.k12.ok.us) under Elementary, P.E., & Adkins. The P.E. classes have been doing a great job experiencing and playing new games. They have also shown a great attitude enduring the heat while getting plenty of breaks and water. Coach Adkins

Transportation Schedule Due to keeping down bus overloading, we are asking that your child have the same afternoon schedule every day. This means no changing of buses. If your child plans to have students come home with them, you must make arrangements for all to be picked up. Thank you for your cooperation.
Welcome back! Hope everyone had a great summer. I have noticed several student enrollment forms where asthma has been checked in the health information box. If your child uses an inhaler for asthma, the parent needs to bring his/her inhaler and sign the proper paperwork. All inhalers, medications, epi pens , OTC meds that parents did not pick-up at end of last school year have been discarded. All prescription medications, inhalers, epi pens must have pharmacy label intact, with name of student, medication, directions for administration, prescription number, physician name, date of prescription. Over the counter meds (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, ect) must be in a new unopened bottle. I would really appreciate your help with this. I will start head checks in September, anyone who would like to help just give me a call in my office at 564-0904. I’m looking forward to a great school year. Monti Walker, RN
