ALARGAN Towell has quickly grown and currently has four major projects in the pipeline at various stages of the development phase with a total cost of 787 million Omani Riyals. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia In accordance with ALARGAN’s regional strategy for expansion, ALARGAN Homes was established in Riyadh in 2006. ALARGAN has successfully forged alliances with prime strategic partners from all major provinces in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ALARGAN Homes acquired a parcel of land to develop in Riyadh in 2006. The following year, a local bank placed a bid to purchase the entire project (to be delivered by 2011) under the terms that ALARGAN Homes would retain the role as lead developer. As of January 2008, ALARGAN Homes has seven other projects on the drawing board with a total project portfolio cost of US$ 1.6 billion. In total ALARGAN Homes has more than 5.7 million m² of land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. One of ALARGAN Homes feature projects is Al-Sohoul, located near Al-Jubail in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The development is a residential master planned community providing affordable housing for 5,000 people. Al-Sohoul will offer residents a range of community and recreational facilities that will also include a commercial component. Kingdom of Bahrain ALARGAN Bahrain was established in August 2005 to capitalise on the growing foreign investor interest in the Bahraini real estate market. ALARGAN conducted extensive due diligence on the needs of the Bahraini real estate market to identify possible opportunities. The study highlighted the lack of affordable residential units available for the average Bahraini family. ALARGAN partnered with a prominent high net-worth concern to incorporate a Bahraini company to pursue these opportunities. In accordance with ALARGAN’s strategy, Bahrain launched Saar Gate, its first project in the Kingdom. The project is a residential development consisting of two phases. Phase One comprises 102 villas and was fully sold out early on. Phase Two comprises 121 villas, 90 townhouses, and 36 apartments all situated in the prime area of Saar. Furthermore the project consists of a small commercial component that will serve the community. The market has proved extremely receptive to the project since its launch in November 2006. To capitalise on the popularity of the Saar Gate project ALARGAN Bahrain is currently developing a second project, Abu Gowa, also in the Saar area. Advisory Services ALARGAN International offers a full range of real estate advisory services in addition to its development activities. ALARGAN International’s executive management team is composed of professionals with diverse and established track records in the real estate investment advisory field, enabling the company to offer specific expertise in the area. In 2005 ALARGAN International was chosen by Global Investment House in Kuwait as the investment advisor for their first Gulf oriented real estate fund. The focus of the fund is on diversified residential developments with income producing assets to ensure an appropriate risk

adjusted portfolio offering attractive returns to investors. The fund is 100% invested. Most recently ALARGAN International has been appointed as the fund advisor for Coast Investment and Development Company in Kuwait for their GCC Real Estate Fund. In addition to its investment advisory services the Business Development and Advisory Services team offers advice on real estate strategy and optimal real estate allocation to real estate companies under advisory and management agreements. The management team has extensive experience in all aspects of fund management that enables the company to offer highly skilled research and advisory services for individuals and corporate clients alike. As testament to this capability a respected government entity has recently executed an agreement with ALARGAN International to manage a number of developments on their behalf in the GCC.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS Argan Business Park (ABP), a prestigious ninebuilding waterfront office complex in the Kuwait Free Trade Zone, is to be ALARGAN’s new inspirational green Head Quarters in Kuwait. ABP will be an island of tranquility showcasing optimal energy efficiency and state-of-the-art intelligent building features, creating a 21st Century smart office complex. Corporate Social Responsibility at ALARGAN ALARGAN strives to play an active role in raising environmental awareness. In June 2007 ALARGAN International Real Estate Company joined the prestigious United States Green Building Council (USGBC), making it the first Kuwaiti company to join this environmentally conscious organisation. Developed by the USGBC, the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Development) building rating system measures certain criteria in order to grant certification. To that end ALARGAN is aiming for the highest rating (platinum) in LEED certification from the USGBC for its new headquarters within its stateof-the- art Argan Business Park project in the Free Trade Zone area. On a social note ALARGAN International is in advanced discussions with the Ministry of Social Affairs to establish an SOS Children’s Village for the orphan’s of Kuwait. SOS, the world’s largest orphan charity, works on the principle of providing children with a home, mother, siblings and a village community.

PROMOTION ALARGAN International Real Estate Company has a commanding branding strategy and is systematically working on fulfilling it through methodical marketing and communications plans. Sponsoring and partaking in major real estate forums is one of the promotional strategies ALARGAN embarks upon to promote its brand and corporate identity.
