Longreach Market Report 30th October 2013   A yarding of 1750 head met a positive market trend in Longreach for the last sale of 2013. A limited supply of finished cattle were evident and plenty of cattle were showing the affects of a dry season. The best improvements in the market were heavy cows being 32c/kg dearer on the previous sale. The feeder steers 3-400kg had a 28c/kg gain, with quality Charolais/Hereford cross steers selling to a sale high of 159c. Ray White Longreach Sale Highlights   Brahman Bullocks were sold on account of Wellshot Grazing of "Wellshot" Ilfracombe, selling to 148c/kg, weighing 659kg to return $976. Noddy Hart, sold Droughtmaster Bullocks to 135c/kg, weighing 485kg, and returning $655. Charolais Steers sold on account of Toobrack Grazing Co of "Toobrack" Longreach, topping the sale at 159c/kg, weighing an average of 428kg, to return $682. Mellish Park Grazing of "Neenah Park" Longreach, sold Brahman Steers to 132c/kg weighing 473kg, to return $626. A pen of Charolais Steers were sold on account of Mary Rogers of "Toobrack" Longreach selling to 159c/kg weighing 392kg returning $624. Mike Teelow off agistment at "Dillulla" Longreach sold Brahman Steers at 136c/kg weighing 395kg to return $538. Matt Sladden if "Watten Downs" Hughenden, sold quality red Brahman/ Droughtmaster cross steers to a local buyer at 135c/kg, weighing 302 kg, to return $408. The Malone Family of "Braeside" Kynuna, sold store condition Droughtmaster steers to restockers at 135c/kg weighing 276kg, to return $374. Santa Gertrudis Cows were sold on account of Terry Little off agistment at "Clovelly

Station" Ilfracombe, selling to 115c/kg, weighing 618kg, to return $711. Edkins Campbell & Co of "Goodberry Hills" Longreach sold Santa Cows to 123c/kg, with an average weight of 573kg, returning $706. Steven Elliot off agistment at "Rodeo Paddock" Winton, sold Brahman Cross Cows to 121c/kg, weighing 453kg, to return $549. Simbrah Heifers sold to 128c/kg, weighing 552kg, to return $708 on account of Maranda Pastoral of "Maranda" Barcaldine. Terry Little of "Clovelly Station" Ilfracombe sold Charbray Heifers to top at 134c/kg, weighing 510kg, to return $684. Wellshot Grazing of "Wellshot" Ilfracombe, also sold a Brangus Heifer to 120c/kg, weighing 425kg, to return $510. Tracey Walker of "Newstead" Ilfracombe sold a Droughtmaster Bull to top at 138c/kg, weighing 780, to return $1076.
