Meeting Minutes Location: Indiana Senior High School LGI Room Indiana, PA

Opening : The regular meeting of the Indiana Wrestling Boosters was called to order at 6:06 PM February 17, 2015 at the Indiana Senior High School LGI Room.

A. Approval of Minutes : Bob Bell motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Heather Greene

B. Standing Reports 1. Treasurer’s Report – Current balance reported as of January 31, 2015: $11, 374.93 The Section tournament profited approximately $2,990.00 with an anticipated expense of $300.00 remaining. Upcoming expenses will be the Elementary, Junior High and Senior High banquets. Clarification from previous meeting. At the last meeting it was voted to discontinue the Elementary Awards. The Awards referenced were the MVP, Rookie of the Year etc. This was misinterpreted by some suggesting they thought it was the “gifts” which is not the case.

Coaches’ Report a. Sections – Overall the tournament was a success with a total of 170 wrestlers combined. A total of $7.00 from the registration was obtained for our organization totaling $1,190. Door money $1,785 and concessions net $1,169 and 50/50 $100, minus expenses for a total profit of $2990. The anticipated date for next year for the Section Tournament is: February 21, 2016 b. Junior High - Coach Pete Wyotowish reported that the contributions made by Coach Harrington were monumental further suggesting that was indeed an asset. He ask that we consider paying Coach Harrington for his efforts. Brain Petras proposed a total of $1,750 which was seconded by Mark Kunselman. While on the subject of compensating coaches a motion was made to provide Coach Jeremy with $1,000 by Bob Bell which was seconded by Tiffanie Fordyce. Bob Bell made a motion to provide Rick Fanella with a $200 gift card to Cabela’s for his outstanding contributions with the Strength Training program. Although, Rick has suggested previously he did not want compensated it was a general consensus that his efforts should indeed be recognized. Seconded by Heather Greene. Todd Cunningham made a motion to provide Coach Steve with a $100 gift card, seconded by Heather Greene c. Elementary – Brian Petras reported that we have 3 wrestlers in the 8&U group that have advanced to Areas, 2, in the 9&10 group, 4, in the 11&12 group and 2 from the Junior High Group. Overall, we typically anticipate from 12 to 15 wresters to advance.

3. Committee reports a. All-American Club – Brian Petras reported that the current proposal by Coach Waller is to be available from 3:15 to 9:00 on Monday’s from September to May which would accommodate all three levels, Elementary, Junior High and Senior High Wrestlers. Following a lengthy discussion among the group it was rejected due to administrative reasons. Brain will contact Coach Waller. Further discussions regarding this have been tabled until more information

becomes available and following the Flo Nationals planning which is a priority at this time. b. Bob Bell – proposed that from October through February that considerations be made to provide a $50 reimbursement per month per wrestler for those choosing to participate in Wrestling Clubs. This was discussed at length and will be considered as an option pending the outcome of future discussions. No vote was entertained at this time. c. Nominations – for the positon of Recording Secretary Mark Kunselman was nominated. Vice President Bob Bell and Gary Ryan were nominated. Elections will occur during the next meeting. Both the Treasurer and Corresponding Secretary roles have one year remaining. The group discussed the demands of both roles with an agreement by Tiffanie Fordyce to assume the responsibilities of the Treasurer role and Heather Greene assuming the responsibilities of the Corresponding Secretary role for the remainder of the term. d. Flonationals – Heather Marcozzi provided an update on Flonationals. Setups will take place on March 31; Weigh-ins on April 1; High School competition April 2 and 3; Junior High and Elementary competition on April 4. Overall, there is a concern that we do not have the commitment from volunteers needed to date. Efforts will be made to contact Alumni and direct contact with Senior High Wrestlers, Parents and others. e. Banquets – planning continues for the Senior High, Junior High and Elementary banquets.
