Opening : The regular meeting of the Indiana Wrestling Boosters was called to order at 6:07 PM January 26, 2015 at Dingbats Restaurant, Indiana, PA.
A. Approval of Minutes : Mark Kunselman motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Tiffanie Fordyce
B. Standing Reports 1. Treasurer’s Report – Current balance reported as of January 26, 2015: $11, 587.93. The elementary Keystone tournament profited approximately $4,000 and the Battle for the Belt approximately $2,000. 2. Coaches’ Report a. Sections – Indiana will host sections on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Volunteers will be needed for setup and weigh-ins and registration on Saturday, February 14 from 6:00-8:00 pm. All volunteer positions can be signed up for on the website under the volunteer tab. If possible, any medals leftover from previous tournaments will be modified with a sticker.
3. Committee reports a. All-American Club – The proposal for next year’s All-American Club is that Coach Waller would be in Indiana every Monday from September through May. Plus once a month for a 4 hour clinic on Sundays. Coach Waller would also attend Jr. High and High School practices on Mondays. Also all wrestlers would have the option to attend Waller on site in Latrobe every Wednesday and Friday. The total cost would be $11,000. A motion for boosters to pay the full amount for All-American was put forward. This has been tabled until the next meeting giving everyone time to consider alternatives at which time it will be put to a vote. b. Keystones – Gretchen Prebish reported that Indiana will host Keystone Finals weigh-ins. 6 and under and 11/12 will weigh in Wednesday, February 4 from 6:00-8:00 pm. 7/8 and 9/10 will weigh in Wednesday, February 11 from 6:008:00 pm. All weigh-ins will be at the Indiana Senior High School, with the YMCA serving as a backup location in case of school cancellation. c. Flonationals – Heather Marcozzi provided an update on Flonationals. Setups will take place on March 31; Weigh-ins on April 1; High School competition April 2 and 3; Junior High and Elementary competition on April 4. A save the date email and Facebook post will be sent out. Tickets for box lunches will be distributed to volunteers in lieu of a break room buffet. Tiffanie Fordyce will work with Heather to line up volunteers for the event. Heather also proposed that boosters pay the registration fee for any high school wrestler who wants to compete at Flo. d. Banquets – Nichole Sipos and Jenn Cunningham will coordinate on the Jr. High and High School banquets. Heather Greene is the chairperson of the elementary banquet committee and is going to meet with her committee to determine a date and location. A motion was put forward to eliminate end of the year awards at the elementary level. This was unanimously approved.
C. New Business a. Officer Elections – Nominations for Vice President, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer are due at the February booster meeting. Elections will take place
at the March meeting and new officers will assume their positons April 1, 2015. b. Alumni – Mark Kunselman suggested than an Alumni tab and information form be created on the website. Tiffanie Fordyce will create it.
