Opening : The regular meeting of the Indiana Wrestling Boosters was called to order at 6:02PM December 11, 2014 at Indiana Senior High School, Indiana, PA.
A. Approval of Minutes : Tiffanie Fordyce motioned to approve, seconded by Tara Dolan
B. Standing Reports 1. Treasurer’s Report –The current balance reported as of the meeting date: $15,450.81. An additional amount of $2,390.41 is available in the PayPal account awaiting transfer. 2. Coaches’ Report a. Elementary – There will be an Elementary Recognition night the evening of December 17 which will run in conjunction with a Teddy Bear Fund Drive, Elementary wrestlers that wear their tournament shirts will be admitted to the event free of charge. The January 4th tournament will consist of 6 mats. Dave Dolan recommended that a total of 6 referee’s be scheduled. Todd Cunningham agreed to make the necessary arrangements. Volunteer signups will be managed via the Boosters Website. If you have not done so, please sign up to assist with this event. Battle for the Belt will be on January 10 th, it is expected that the number of wrestlers will increase with most expected to sign up the week of the event.
b. Jr. High/Sr. High - In regards to the January 17th tournament there are presently 10 teams signed up and paid with the possibility of 3 additional teams that have expressed an interest but have not paid. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The awards will be metals. c. Set up times – all set up activities will occur on Friday nights. For the record the following times have been approved. For the January 3rd tournament – set up will occur the evening of Friday January 2nd after 7:30. For the tournament on January 10th, set-up will occur on Friday the 9th after 9:00 for the new gym and after 6:00 for the old gym. For the tournament on January 17th, set-ups will occur after 9:00 for both the old and new gyms. It requires a great deal of effort to set up for these events. Please plan to assist. It was noted that the Senior High team has a match the evening of January 2nd which will likely reduce the amount of help that evening for that set up. d. There will be a JV tournament the afternoon of December 18th at 3:45 PM, the Boosters will staff the concession stand that afternoon. 3. Committee reports a. All-American Club – there have been discussions with Coach Waller for next year. Coach Waller has proposed to maintain the same price; however, for 2 Sundays and 4 Mondays. If he was to continue with the 4 Sundays and 4 Mondays, the price would increase to $12,600. More information to follow.
C. New Business a.
Camp Reimbursements will continue at $100.00, it should be noted that this does not include club events. An example of the reimbursement intent would be off-season camps. The Boosters does reserve the right to approve and or decline any requests.
b.
The sunglasses seem to be a big hit. Each Senior High Wrester was given 5 pair to sell. The consensus has been that the 80’s style glasses are what most seem to favor.
c.
A motion was made by Tiffanie Fordyce to purchase a pizza warmer to be used at all hosted tournaments. The price is $319.99, the warmer is 20x20x24, the motioned was seconded by Tara Dolan, none opposed.
