OPENING: The general board meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm in Newbury Park by Jason Kerns, NPPB President. Those present are listed in the chart as well as guests: Lance Kroetz and Gisho Tatsutani.

DIVISION REPORT: x x A. Shetland: Darren Garlock x x presented the Shetland Division report. For Shetland x x x x Gold, only the last 8 games x x x will count towards the x x x x x x x x x x standings. In addition, the x x x x x play level in that division has improved. For all-stars, there x will be a 5U team managed x by Matt Huff and 6U team managed by Jeremy Janton. x x x x x x They would like to hold a 5U x x x x x x all-star evaluation this x x coming Sunday. x B. Pinto: Pat Leff presented the Pinto Division report. The x x x x x Pinto division is going well. x x x Kevin Leehey Diana Seta There was some discussion on the replacement of a pitcher after he hits two x x x Steve Jackson batters in the Pinto Black x x x Steve Field division and a concern with x x x Mat Wesner obstruction. It was advised x x x Bryan Herring that the manager speaks tith x x x x Doug Tuxill the umpires prior to the x Chris Inglehart game. x x x x x x Aaron Yuhasz All approved all-star x Jason Buckley x x x x managers have been notified. x Brenda Melgoza Diana Seta Scott Barber will manage the x x x Nicki Barber 7U team and Brandon Nunez will manage the 8U team. CJ Huck There was a motion to Rachel Moscoso approve Lance Kroetz as the Todd Taylor Jon Raskin 7B manager – motion x x x Athena Harris seconded and approved. x Eric Horne C. Mustang: Brian Yasui presented the Mustang Division report. Everything is going well. There have been questions about the pitch smart rules that was implemented this year. For all-stars, we are looking at 2 teams for 10U and 2 teams for 9U. For 9U, we still need 4-6 more players for a second team. D. Bronco: Steve Field, Bronco Black Player Agent, presented Bob Grieder’s report: “All rainouts have been made up in black division. Lots of close games thus far. Tight race in Bronco American with Expos ½ game out of first place and Royals 1 ½ games out of first. One incident of an adult smoking at DV. Manager addressed it and hopefully resolved. Sixteen 11U players have submitted their all star application. Seventeen 12U players have submitted their all star application with 2 pending. Waiting for forms from one manager. Jon Raskin the 12U A manager. Pat Leff is the 12U B manager. Pat Conley is the 11U manager [12B manager later updated to Mike Flaherty].” E. Pony: Joe D’Errico presented the Pony Division report. There are 20 players for 13U and 10 players for 14U. We need to recruit more players for 14U – wondering if we should try for a 13/14 combined team.

ADVISORY REPORT A. Equipment Update: Jason K noted that our equipment is not being taken care of properly. He has asked that the board and council monitor and help educate others if you see something not done correctly.

OLD BUSINESS: A. CRPD Improvements: Jason K. met with CRPD regarding their proposed improvements at DV (proposed items presented at the April meeting). CRPD will start construction in the fall. B. CRPD Matching Grant Application: The application has been submitted. Netting over the quad area at DV was included in the application. C. All-Star Tournaments: We are hosting 3 all-star tournaments: June 23-27 (Pre-4th- all 5 fields used), June 29-July 3 (4 fields), July 6-12 (2 fields). Volunteer requirements will be sent out. We need families to help out. If we don’t have field prep help, we will hire the high school baseball players again this year.

NEW BUSINESS A. All-Star Eligibility: Players must return their forms in order to be included in the draft. Just a reminder that all players from the Gold Division are eligible, and only players nominated by their managers in the Black Division are eligible for the draft. B. Regular Season Tournaments: Jason K needs the schedules to assign umpires for these games. Just a reminder that the “plus 1” rule has been removed, so all championship games for the Black Division will be after closing ceremonies on June 4th at noon. C. In-House All-Stars: Division directors are to ask managers for the top 3 to 4 players on their teams. In-house games will start the Monday after closing ceremonies.
