It was such a pleasure seeing so many parents at our Key Stage 1 reading workshop. The children adored showcasing their amazing reading and comprehension skills. Thank you to all those parents who were able to come in and join us and also Mrs Guthrie and Miss Thompson for organising this event. I know Tiger and Alpaca Classes are very excited about their up and coming fairy tale banquet, when parents are also invited to join us. We have also welcomed Mrs Summers back this week. She is the lead teacher for Drama and Expressive Arts at Valley School. I feel very privileged to be able to offer these wonderful opportunities to our children and therefore would like to express my thanks to all the Valley and Invicta teachers, who have worked so closely with us.

Uniform It is always a pleasure watching the children come in at the start of the day looking smart and well presented. Recently we have had issues around girls’ hair bands and PE shoes. Please can I remind parents that girls should not have bows in their hair and plain coloured bobbles should be used only. The Trust pride themselves on presentation and it is always lovely to hear positive feedback from our CEO, Julie Derrick on this. Further to this, please can all children have black trainers in their PE kit as the children will be participating in outside PE after half term.

Website Please check out the website on a weekly basis. The class pages are updated weekly and there is lots of key information on this - http://www.holboroughlakes.viat.org.uk.

PTA A huge thank you to the wonderful parents who offer their time and support to run various events throughout the year at Holborough Lakes. Mrs Spalding has kindly updated the PTA board with an update of ‘upcoming’ events.

Snodland Float I am pleased to announce that we at Holborough Lakes will be representing our school at the annual Snodland Carnival. More information to follow. If you are interested in helping, please see Mrs Tree who will be able to provide more details.

Berkeley Homes Thank you to all the parents who have been so proactive in engaging with Berkeley Homes and expressing their concerns over the nature of the traffic and mess that has been left on the roads adjacent to our school. I am pleased to inform you that I have set up a meeting with the site manager and will inform you of the outcome ASAP. Please note that a parking calming officer is now in place during the busier times in the morning. Although there are no speed signs around our school, please can I request that parents drive slowly, especially when entering our car park.
