A New Year's Reflection Do you remember the blizzard of 2011? I certainly do. On January 31, 2011, I passed through the St. Crispin’s front gate with Parker, Sydney and our dog Blue just as the sleet started to fall. We awoke the next morning not only to a beautiful blanket of white, but 3 foot drifts and frozen roads that prevented Mike from arriving until 3 days later. Schools were closed for 3 weeks, retreat groups were cancelled, we explored the property wading through the snow while wearing layers of clothing and rain boots (most of our clothes & furniture were stuck in Texas), and we got to know Bob and Georgia Gates, the interim directors at St. Crispin’s, extremely well. Thus began our adventures at St. Crispin’s 4 years ago. And now we fast forward to the present. On January 31, 2015, as Mike and I begin year 5 as the Executive Directors, we will gather with Friends of St. Crispin’s, family, staff, Board Members, Bishop Ed Konieczny, and donors as we break ground on what will be our new Dining Hall, Summer Camp Pavilion, and Summer Camp Cabins. This is an exciting time as we prepare to provide our diocesan youth a place of their own, and with the expansion, an opportunity to provide summertime conferences and retreats for our adult guests. Our family continues to feel blessed to live and work in an environment where we can use our talents. We would like to thank you all for your friendship and support. We strive to serve you and provide a setting that will encourage your personal relationships, nourish your body and soul, and nurture your spiritual growth.

Many blessings to you and yours – Mike and Joanne Roberts

A New Years Greeting from Daniel Chapmen Happy New Years! For many people the New Year is a time to reevaluate and restart. For Summer Camp, the New Year is time to continue chugging along towards May and the start of Camp! With temperatures near freezing, the scorching heat of summer seems like a far off impossibility, and the thought of Summer Camp may be just as distant in the minds of campers. For those of us planning and preparing for Summer Camp, there does not seem to be enough time between now and then for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together – but they inevitably will! and the end product will be that ever-magical St. Crispin's Summer Camp experience. Camper registration is now open at epiok.org/camps/stcrispins! Act now and you will receive the Early Bird Discount. Applications are currently available for the Summer Staff (counselors & office manager positions) and the Counselor In Training (CIT) program. Soon to follow is the application for volunteer counselors. These are available at epiok.org/camps/stcrispins. We are in great need of increasing our pool of medical volunteers. If you are an MD, PA, or NP interested in being the medical volunteer for a session, please contact me to learn more about what is involved.

A Prayer for Joy in God's Creation -From the Book of Common Prayer Oh heavenly Father, who has filled the world with beauty: open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works; that, rejoicing in your whole creation, we may learn to serve you with gladness; for the sake of him through whom all things were made, you Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
