Premier Intermediate Hurling League Valley Rovers 2-11 to Castlelyons 2-11 Valley Rovers played their second league hurling game on Sunday and their first home fixture of 2015. Valleys were playing catch up for long periods of the game and trailed at half time 1.04 to 1.07 with John Cottrell getting the goal. The second half followed the same pattern with Castlelyons going seven points up midway through the half and still leading by four with time almost up. Valleys displayed great character to level the game with a late goal from Minor Chris O’Leary and Darragh Crowley pointing from a free to level the game, which bodes well for the year ahead
Sunday morning the U-8's travelled to Clonakilty to play their first friendly match of 2015. We had three teams of 7 a side and contended both hurling and football. The boys played well and displayed their skills in both codes. Blitzes will commence the end of the month so we have lots of match practice to look forward to.

Valleys U14 footballers welcomed Castlehaven to Brinny on Sunday. Unfortunately we came up against a very strong Castlehaven team who went on to win the game on a score line of 9-11 to 1-6. Playing with the wind in the first half we had a number of attacks but only had one point on the score board at half time. Castlehaven kept the pressure up in the second half and to the lads credit they battled hard but on the day they came up against a far superior team.

Ensure to collect a Topaz Cash for clubs card from any Topaz Station. When you purchase €40 plus of any fuel, ensure to produce your card to have it stamped. There are five stamps required on each loyalty card. When full, return it to Centra Innishannon or any club representative. Each club has a unique code to be recorded on the card. We will ensure all details are correctly recorded before we post them. To enter the draw we must return three hundred fully stamped cards. The Valley Rovers Adult section, The Juvenile section, The Ladies Camogie section, and the Ladies football section are working together to ensure we achieve our target. This is a fantastic fundraiser initiative to be in with a chance for. Prizes include: 1st Club receives €10,000, The next ten clubs receives €5000, The next One hundred and forty clubs receives €1000, and all others not drawn receives €250.
