Results Valley Rovers Premier Intermediate Hurlers travelled to near neighbours Kilbrittain on Sunday morning last to take on the home side in a competitive and entertaining league encounter. Playing with a strong breeze Valleys got off to a good start and they were four points to one up after ten minutes. The home side responded well to reduce the lead to five points to four after 15 minutes. It was all Valleys from here to the Break leaving the Rovers leading 10 point to four at the short whistle. Aided with a freshening breeze Kilbrittain came out quickly after the break to reduce Valleys lead with a string of unanswered points until Eoin Manning got Valley Rovers first goal on 48 minutes following some good work from Tadgh Burke. Yet again the home side fought back and on 54 mins were awarded a penalty with the score now standing at 1-12 to 12pts. The Valleys trio on the line thwarted Ross Cashmans piledriver and conceded a point in the ensuing passage of play. From the resulting puckout Valleys’ Tadgh Burke won another great ball and was subsequently fouled for a penalty which Ray O’Donovan expertly dispatched to the net. Kilbrittain added three more points to the visitors’ one in the last five minutes to leave the final score Kilbrittian 0-16 to Valley Rovers 213.
