The design concept for this project pays homage to Ningbo’s maritime history and its former riparian ecological systems. The mission of this project, from a landscape point of view, is to create enjoyable outdoor spaces that satisfy the needs of the users, as well as to reveal and educate the users of the urban natural ecology so that they may learn to protect and appreciate it over time. Whenever possible, permeable paving and soft vegetation are proposed to allow as much living landscape surfaces as possible. Trees are selected based on seasonal interests, to enhance people’s experiences.
