GAME NOTES THE SERIES: NJCU leads 8-1. NJCU has outscored CCNY, 61-6, all-time. LAST MEETING: October 11, 2008 in Jersey City (NJCU won, 6-0). NJCU outshot CCNY, 45-0. Juanita Sarria delivered three assists and added one goal. Six different players scored for NJCU. 2009 OPENER: Today’s game is the first home event for any NJCU athletics team this year and the first game played on the new Robert L. Nicole Sarica McNulty Memorial Soccer Field. The scoreboard has just been installed. Note: The names on the scoreboard are currently not working. NJCU (home team) is displayed on the left and CCNY on the right. CASERES NAMED NJAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: In her first week as a member of the Gothic Knights, Julia Caseres has already reaped awards. Yesterday, she was named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2009 season. She leads the Kelly Reilly NJAC in goals (3) and points (7) after one week of the season. CUNHA NAMED NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: A terrific debut for rookie midfielder Ashley Cunha has earned her the first NJAC Rookie of the Week award of the year.
