North Royalton Athletic Boosters November 6, 2017 Meeting Minutes

Finance Committee - Attendance: Paul Twarog, Carey Marousek, Kelly Tarnowski. Discussion was held concerning the following: gold card status, concessions, upcoming trustee openings, uniform spreadsheet and membership status. General Meeting – Attendance on file. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Paul Twarog. 1. Athletic Director’s Report: Bo Kuntz was not in attendance. Several members provided team updates from the fall season. 2. Treasurer’s Report: Greg Robinson was not in attendance. The Treasurers Report is on file. a. Paul Twarog reviewed the stipend “bonus” program based on membership percentage for each team. 3. Old Business: a. Baseball Uniforms: Varsity Baseball Coach Brad Klingbeil presented options for new baseball uniforms at the October NRAB meeting. Adler Sports quoted $9,275 for 50 home and 50 away jerseys, and 75 grey, 75 white pants. BSN Sports quoted $10,001. Coach Klingbeil prefers Adler Sports. The uniforms will be for Varsity and JV, with the current uniforms being passed down to the freshman team. Purchase of the uniforms from Adler Sports for $9,275 was approved by the membership. 4. New Business: a. Serpentini Stadium will host a football playoff game on Friday, November 10th. Concession workers are needed to staff both stands. 5. Trustee Reports a. Car Raffle – Jeff Evanko reported on behalf of Sharon Evanko the 690 tickets have been sold by athletes, with 333 being sold by boys soccer. An additional 38 have been sold at the Activities Office. b. Concessions – Diane Mueller reiterated the need for volunteers for the football playoff game, and potentially for a playoff game on November 17th. There was discussion concerning recruiting volunteers from the middle school and getting them involved. Several 7th grade parents have expressed an interest in volunteering for concessions, and Paul Twarog encouraged that group to attend the December NRAB meeting to learn more. The financial statement for the concession stand is on file. c. Gold Cards – Kelly Tarnowski reported winter rosters will be compared to fall rosters before distributing cards to athletes. She noted that the cost of production of the cards is $2,500. Approximately $14,000 in sales have been made to date. d. Letter Jackets – Natalie Bottomley reported that there has been a decrease in the turnaround time for the jackets. She encouraged that requests be submitted as soon as possible after the awards night to ensure Christmas delivery.

e. Membership – Kathy Lineweaver reported NRAB has 220 members. The breakdown by fall sports teams are as follows: Sport

Team reps should let Kathy or Paul Twarog know when the parent meetings are for winter sports and they will attend to promote Boosters.

f. Newsletter – Please send Carey Marousek information from the Fall Sports Awards Nights as well as any photos from the season to include in the Fall Newsletter. Send information to [email protected]. g. Night at the Races –No report. Paul reminded the group that each team is expected to donate a basket. h. Programs – No report. j. Purple & Gold Booth – Maria Rowlett reported that 475 dozen doughnuts ($1,600) were sold at the five home football games. Approximately $3,300 was sold in merchandise, of which NRAB receives 25%. Total profit is approximately $2,500. k. Team Sports Liaison – No report. l. Website Administrator – Jeff Evanko thanked the team reps, coaches and Bo Kuntz for providing information throughout the fall season. He reminded Trustees to provide him with pertinent information about their areas.  He reported there were 28,000 hits to the web site in September.  The VNN app is no longer being supported, it is best to go to the web site, Facebook or Twitter.  Visit arbiterlive.com for up to date schedule information. The NR Athletics web site is on a 24 hour delay for last minute schedule changes.  Big news! Due to the success of our web site (great content = hits!), we were one of 25 schools selected to have an Amazon button on our site. NRAB will receive 4-5% of the sales generated by going through this portal to make purchases on Amazon. Additional information will be available later this week. 6. Adjournment: The next meeting will be Monday, December 4th. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
