It’s Awards Time! Northampton HC are strongly represented in the Borough Council Sports Awards Short List. Congratulations to the following players/teams: Northampton Sports Awards Sportsman of the year – Liam Cassidy (Northampton HC) Leader of the year – Steph Brennan th Team of the year – Mens 4 team Coach of the year – Jon Noble Watch and learn from the masters!
Daventry Sports Awards Sportsman - Liam Cassidy (Moulton College) Open Day Success: Saturday 21st August saw the first Northampton HC club open day. The aim of day was to provide both a fun day for the club, and give potential new members the chance to see what the club was about and to join in. The day was broken into several sections. The juniors started the day with around 25 children aged from 3-11 joining in on a training session followed by some small matches. A number of new juniors had come along some who were playing hockey for the very first time.
Our Mens and Ladies Vets play in the 1st round of the EHB Cup this Sunday. Both games are at Moulton Sports Complex so please come along to support them. Ladies game starts at 11.30am, and the Mens start at 1.30pm.
Northampton HC attend Moulton College Freshers Fair We recently attended the freshers fair in a bid to attract more players to the club. This was a huge success as we signed up over 20 people on the first day!
Next up were the adults and badgers: This session was focused on basic skills and enabled some of the new players to learn some basic hockey skills. Once this was over the main hockey match of the day took centre stage. The mens 2s/3s/ 4s had a friendly ‘demonstration’ match. Some great hockey was seen throughout, with the game being played at a strong pace. The side in black that took the honours 4-2. Tom Warburton giving that side the attacking edge; although Dermot Cassidy did even the balance by giving a P-flick away with a foot on the goal line!! To finish the day a mixed match was organised for the players that were involved in the earlier training session. This was a good fun game, which saw James Knibb and NHC new boy Antony Pearce frustratingly beaten by a girl (Amie Hone!) and young Maddy Wightman beating Paul Madeley to score, much to the delight of the spectators!

Senior Club Info – 2010/11 ANNUAL SUBS After much discussion at committee level, we can finally announce the Senior Club Annual Subs for the 2010/11 season. They are as follows:
All Mens and Ladies Adult: £120 All Mens and Ladies U18/Student: £80 Mixed 1s/2s, All Players: £50
Why are our annual subs more this season? Due to increases in VAT after Christmas (from 17.5% to 20%), our pitch hire costs will significantly increase during the 2010/11 season. This extra £10 per member will help cover this increase. On top of this, we have to cover the increase in petrol prices for those members who travel to games outside of the county (so Mens 1s-6s, ladies 1s-2s). Members will now receive 15p per mile (last season it was 12p per mile) if they take 3 or more team members with them. If you would like to see a full break down of our budget for the season, or want more information on this, then please let the committee know. How Can I pay my Subs?
