MENS SECTION REVIEW:

MIXED SECTION REVIEW:

The men’s 1’s produced potential promotion winning form in October, as they went on a 4 game unbeaten run. Unfortunately this came to an abrupt end when they lost to Rugby & East Warwick. They still sit in the top half of the table and are in a good position for the rest of the season. The men’s 2’s and 3’s have, as expected, had some up and down results as they compete in the Midlands Premier Division against a lot of national league 2nd and 3rd XI sides. Both teams currently sit just above the relegation zone, and will be more than happy to be in that position at the end of the season! The 4’s form has mirrored that of the 2’s and 3’s, as they adjust to a new league. On to better news, the men’s 5’s have been in scintillating form, so far they have lost only 1 game all season and sit proudly at the top of the table, whilst the 6’s, on the back of 2 consecutive wins have moved up to third place in the South East Division 2.

LADIES SECTION REVIEW: The ladies 1’s have got off to a great start, with 4 wins, 1 draw and just 1 loss, the ladies find themselves sitting in 1st place. They are clearly working hard and taking their chances. Keep up the excellent work. After being promoted last season, the ladies 2’s are more than holding there own as they sit in the middle of their league.

Both mixed teams are enjoying some good hockey, and are 4th and 6th in the league. We have one side in the Cup and one side in the Plate Competitions. A few new students have joined us for the earlier side (as long as it’s not too early!!). As with all students, they have trouble getting up and arriving at games with more than a few minutes to spare!!!!!!! There are some useful players among them, which has strengthened our early side, and include some goal scorers.

JUNIOR SECTION REVIEW: The boys U16 were knocked out in round 2 of the EHB Cup; however they, along with the girls U16 progress to the Plate Competition. Dates for this are to be confirmed following the cancelled games over the last weekend. The boys U18 haven’t had great success in the cup; however things are looking better in the Mercian league, following a 4-3 win over Southgate. The girls U18 form has mirrored that of the boys, they recently beat Nuneaton 75 in the Moulton College league. Both the badgers sides have made good progress this season in terms of results and player progression. This has enabled some of these players to progress to the senior mens and ladies sides.

After promotion into Northant’s Division 1 last year, the Ladies 3 started the season promisingly with a well deserved point against Grammarians. However, October has been a tough time with 3 defeats and no goals scored. There have, however, been some notable performances from keeper Jo Askew and defender Chloe Arnison who have been consistent in their performances in this learning curve! However, with October out the way and a fun 7’s tournament to help build confidence and boost team morale, the ladies are determined to move onwards and upwards. It’s so close in the league at the moment that a couple of wins will put them in a more comfortable position. Following a great result on 16th October, the 4's are in 6th place in the league. With the team continuing to improve, the 4's look forward to improved results and the possibility of moving up the league table further. Good luck ladies.
