There were 82 flights that penetrated the monitoring zones during this reporting period, a slight increase from the previous 3 months. The overflights of Bishops Stortford in July were 3 x runway 22 departures that were weather avoiding, 4 x 22 arrival on a go-around maintaining separation, the rest being runway 04 vectored arrivals. The overflights of St Elizabeth’s were runway 22 departures, between 3,500 and 4,000ft, all daytime. August was almost identical to July, but much reduced overflights of Bishops Stortford. The overflight of Stansted Mountfitchet in September was a result of a broken off approach with Sawbridgeworth overflown by 2 x arrivals overshooting the ILS and a runway 22 departure by a Beech Twin ( prop) aircraft.
