Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Photo while assembling.) 12. Refer to the quilt photo to sew the (12) pieced blocks, (9) Daisy Blocks and (4) Center Blocks.
13. Sew (1) 3 ½” 40 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 14. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 15. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 58 ½” Fabric I strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 16. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 58 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 17. Center (1) 3 ½” x 68” Fabric J strip on one side of the quilt top and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the quilt top and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side. 18. Repeat Step 17 to sew (1) 3 ½” x 68” Fabric J strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the quilt top. 4. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to complete (1) Daisy Block center. Repeat to make (9) Daisy Block centers total. 5. Place (1) 2 ½” Fabric B square on the top left corner of (1) Daisy Block center, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam. 6. Follow Figure 3 for the seam direction to add a 2 ½” Fabric B square to each of the remaining corners of the Daisy Block center to make (1) Daisy Block (Fig. 4).
19. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 10), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners. 20. Layer and quilt as desired. 21. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric I (Fabric C for the Red Colorway) strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 22. Bind as desired.
