Business Weather Webcasts

To help promote our twice weekly weather calls, the team is holding a special edition webcast today (8/20) at 2pm. They will focus on cutting through the media hype surrounding El Niño (Godzilla), and provide the facts on the upcoming fall/winter season. If you’d like to listen feel free to register here.

Argh…Another Meeting

The management team was provided copies of the book “Death by Meeting” as part of their recent offsite strategy session. They have already begun applying their learnings in meetings, ensuring everyone’s valuable time is spent wisely. If you are interested in learning more about ways to enhance your meetings, feel free to ask a member of the management team to borrow a copy of the book. As it states “Bad meetings are not inevitable.”

Data Prep in the Cloud

The Product Development and Data Prep teams are currently in the design phase of opi0130 – Migrate Data Prep Database to the Cloud. This project focuses on taking advantage of our new home to increase data prep processing throughput and improve data security. Once complete, this will allow the Data Prep team to process even larger data sets than we already have, and establish data security standards that will surely please the client IT contacts when we request large data sets. Additionally, work is continuing on optimizing the data prep process for ROI analysis, including the introduction of new tools that speed the data validation process.

Weatherizing Manufacturers

Our Weatherization focus has been on Retailers to date, whether it be with the development of the ROI calculations or sales/marketing activities. However, we still have our eyes on Manufacturers as they are a great candidate for Weatherization. The way we sell and the tools we provide them are much different, and we are making progress on defining and capitalizing on these differences. Tim Shine and Rich Schwartz are teaming up to sell to Manufacturers with Doug Pearson and Mike Manoogian focusing on the Retail Weatherization prospects. The management team is working to delineate Weatherization packages for both Retailers & Manufacturers at the Enterprise, Custom, and Benchmark levels. More details to come soon!

The Philadelphia Zoo

As a part of our partnership with the Philadelphia Zoo we received a set of free admission tickets for all employees and their families! Sandra will be distributing them shortly.
