The Planalytics Pulse is an internal collaborative newsletter that shares recent accomplishments and short-term plans to improve our business. We'll have some fun and celebrate the amazing individual contributions to our success as well.

Business Continuity Last year we embarked upon a partnership with an outside firm, Preparis, to build Business Continuity plans to better prepare us for a multitude of incidents that could impact our safety and business operations. The three internal teams that were created to manage the response and recovery during incidents have spent the past few weeks reviewing, practicing, and refining our plans. They have also been determining how to better prepare our company going forward. Look for some updates and reminders to come soon! Thank you all who participated over the past few weeks.

A New Path Forward for the ROI Calculator

The Sales, Client Services, and Analytics teams will be working together to gain a better understanding of how our clients and prospects develop their demand forecasts. This will help us to enhance our current tool to create an even more realistic inventory ROI calculation. This was decided after determining that the assumptions made with ‘ppi224-Enhanced Sales Support ROI Calculator’ were not a realistic representation of our clients’ demand planning process, and that a more valuable implementation should be designed based on their actual process, or something similar.

New Marketing Materials

Preparation for the Snow Season

Many teams are preparing for the unofficial start to the snow season, October 1st. The Weather Operations team will begin creating the Winter Storm Potential report, and forecasting week 2 amounts for the Daily Snow and Ice Alerts. Peter and Sarah will begin briefing clients on our snow forecast (when applicable) during the weekly weather webcasts. Lastly, the Product Development Team is wrapping up work on ‘ppi219-Gridded Snow Alerts’, which will increase the precision of the forecasts and granularity of the maps for week 1 in our Daily Snow and Ice Alerts.

The Marketing and Analytics teams collaborated on a set of ‘Weatherization Case Studies’ that highlight the expected ROI when using our information to optimize inventory. These case studies are based on the ROI analyses that we have conducted for various types of businesses. The slides are available in the Weatherization Documents folder in the Google drive. The Marketing team also created a 1-pager that outlines the value of using our information to improve collaboration between suppliers and their retail partners. This was created at the request of Implus, a footwear accessory manufacturer, to share with their retail customers. Data Prep’s New Home

The Data Prep team is now part of the Operations department! Rebecca will be working with Derron as an ‘Enterprise Data Engineer’, focusing on the larger ROI data sets, and determining ways we can be better prepared to process them. Binnie & Marie will be working with Adam and focusing on the operational data prep queue which supports our existing clients.
