FOR PARENTS: SUN SAFETY PARADE DEAR PARENTS: Our class/school has been studying sun safety. We will review everything the children have learned through a sun safety parade. Sun safety behaviors include: •

Using sunscreen and lip balm SPF 30 and reapplying frequently

Covering up by wearing wide-brimmed hats, clothing and sunglasses

Finding shade

Being SUPER-protected when the sun is directly overhead and shadows are shorter

We welcome you to attend the sun safety parade scheduled on ___________________. Children are encouraged to wear sun safe clothing (e.g., wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, longsleeved shirts and pants), and can dress as their favorite Sunbeatable character from the curriculum.

RAY AND THE SUNBEATABLES™

Ray is the leader. He has

the superpower of shade. Ray also wears a magic watch that reminds him to be SUPER-protected from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM when the sun is directly overhead, shadows are shorter and the sun's rays are more harmful.

Serena has the

superpower of sunscreen.

Chloe has the superpower of protective clothing.

Stefan has the superpower of protective sunglasses.

Hanna has the superpower of protective hats.
