Get Their Attention! (5 minutes) Materials: MoMo Monster Puppet
WELCOME kids to our FearBusters Lab. EXPLAIN that in our lab, we are FearBusters who work hard to say “bye, bye, bye” to all the things that scare us and our monster friends. INTRODUCE & PASS MoMo Monster Puppet by saying: Meet MoMo Monster! (Hold Up Puppet)
Need to Know: When I’m Scared, (make scared face) God Is (point up) With Me! (thumbs to chest)
Bible Story: Exploring the Promised Land Numbers 13:1-14, 35
Everyone give a ROARsome “Hello” to MoMo! (Everyone waves & says “Hello”.) When MoMo Monster comes to you, in your best monster voice, tell him your name. (Kids will PASS puppet & introduce themselves to puppet.) AFTER all kids have been introduced, SAY & DO the following: Have you ever been scared of something? (Allow responses.) We all get scared sometimes. Even our monster friends get scared sometimes, too. Do you FearBusters want to help MoMo bust his fears? (Allow responses.) Then let’s tell him what we Need to Know today: When I’m Scared (make scared face), God Is (point up) With Me! (thumbs to chest)

Application Activity Summary: Kids will build their own monster to help them remember that God is with them and He will send their fears “bye, bye, bye”.
Application Activity (7 min)
Materials: Make a Monster Paper, Crayons, Foam Dice, Monster Key
1. GIVE each child one Make a Monster Paper and place Crayons in the middle of the group. 2. Allow each child to ROLL the Foam Dice. 3. Refer to Monster Key to ask question, based on number rolled, and then, using crayons, have kids add specified Monster Part. 4. After everyone has had a turn, or as time allows, SAY the following: Just like MoMo, you don’t have to be scared because God is with you! This new monster you made can help you remember that! Let’s say what we Need to Know (have kids repeat after you): When I’m Scared (make scared face), God Is (point up) With Me! (thumbs to chest)
Preschool Remember Verse: “I prayed (pretend to play) To the Lord, (point up) And He answered me. (cup hand to ear) He freed me (wave arms & make happy face) From all my fears.” (make scared face) Psalm 34:4 (hold up 4 fingers)

Remember Verse (3 min) Materials: None
1. Have kids REPEAT the Remember Verse (on left) after you, with motions. 2. EXPLAIN that this verse tells us that when we are scared, we can pray to God. God promises to hear us and help our fears go “bye, bye, bye”. 3. SAY the verse together while doing a different action each time. Actions could include: jump, squat, stand on tiptoes, stand on one leg, wiggle, etc. 4. Play at least two times, or as time allows.

PRAY with your group, having them repeat the following after you in short phrases. Dear God, thank you for being with me! Help me not be scared. Thank you for my snack. I love you! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen! SANITIZE hands with hand sanitizer & PASS OUT snacks.
Getting to Know You: Use these questions to get to know your group as they eat & color: Have you ever been scared to try something new? What was it? Who is with you and can help you not feel scared to try new things? (God!) In Large Group, what did Agent Lou True tell MoMo that helped bust MoMo’s fear? (A Bible story) Reading stories from God’s Word can help bust our fears every day!
GIVE each child a coloring sheet & crayons. Ask questions, on left, to get to know you group. USE Filler Guide to keep kids engaged for remainder of small group.
